Probably has something to do with there being a larger talent pool of men than women. If 10 women are allowed to make it and 10 men are allowed to make it but there are 10,000 men and only 100 women the odds are the male team is going to end up with better players.
Its not that women are biologically worse in the sense of physical or mental capacity as such, I mean there may be some differences like reaction time, or in how women learn game skills over large populations, but that would be pure speculation. As it stands, the main difference is that the talent pool is much much smaller in womens sports/esports. But that talent pool disparity is a result of biological factors - some might argue that society is structured in a way to subliminally prevent women from becoming good at games, say through stereotypes or abuse of women online. That explanation doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I think the way men are biologically wired makes gaming and sports in general to feel more rewarding, and I think women have less of a desire to be competitive in the same way men are. I think women, from a biological standpoint, are more inclined to more strictly social activities that revolves around family and networking, whilst men do not to such a large degree prioritize such activities and, again, are more wired towards finding playing games rewarding.

In NA? I think there are a few but the season is fairly new and riot absolutely destroyed MMR/ELO last season so a lot of people who are in masters/gm/challenger aren't necessarily deserving of being there.

Also there was (and I say was for a reason RIP) a female who played in LCS in season 4 i believe. They weren't the worst team in the league and she did play decently. She definitely wasn't boosted and I believe she finished challenger most seasons in soloq.

I mean they sort of do have a point that if it were any other diamond ranked team that they would probably get their asses handed to them the same. But at the same time you could say that the fact that there arent many females at the challenger level is just simply they just aren't capable of being as good as male players. The counterargument to that is females just simply aren't as interested in computer games and at best the might make up 5-10% of the league of legends population so there's a smaller pool there.

However I guess people made a big deal out of an all female team when they were nothing special as far as players go and that's what people are contesting.

This is a good point, even in non physical challenges they still failed.

Now you could argue that there are 1000x as many males trying to compete in LoL so there is still potential for a competitive female team that may never be realized.

I don't get why there's just a big ass ****ing gap in skill level...

Are there not women playing video games such that the pool of talent is smaller? (aka the best of a small pond)

Or are men just smarter/more logical than women on average?
