Another house went on market on Sunday i called my agent and asked to schedule the visit for Monday the agent called me back on Monday saying dont bother they already have multiple offers site unseen. I mean people buyink 260k houses like its a fukkin cheeseburger.

I figured out why though i was approved for up to 300k loan and the lender told me since i have good credit we can go up too 350k with only 5% down. What a joke....didnt learn anything from 2008.
Yeah it's absurd how much they'll loan on a house , the debt ratio you're allowed to take on is absurd. My wife and I were approved for 440k and we ended up buying a 305k house and that was the very peak of what we considered spending.

Just like the bull market was not sustainable . . . neither is the panic over coronavirus. It will get worse before it gets better, but at some point this will blow over and the panic/uncertainty will reverse. Then the narket will come back like it always does.

Just looking at the numbers the market has lost and the volatility are pretty scary on their own. But to me, this doesn't have nearly the same feeling that the other crashes have been related to. 2008-2009 was far scarier fundamentally. The dotcom bubble burst was pretty bad. 9/11 was bad. This just feels like virus panic making everyone potato and impacting global manufacturing and business and it will end at some point. Virus will burn itself out and the recovery will start.

Funny for this to happen during an election year, even more funny that the biggest achievement of trumps career (boosting the economy) is now in shambles all thanks to an over hyped flu like virus that MSM won't let up on. Brb grabbing tin foil hat....

Anyone have some buy lists for after this entire thing blows over?

I'm looking at picking up an airline, casino, and a big tech name. Thoughts? Staying away from cruise lines and oil/gas since those rebounds could be longer term fuked.

Many investors have lost money on airline stocks throughout the years. Id be weary(they often do not correlate to a logical investment thesis).

If you saw some of the rebounds after the last time oil hit $20, I think you’d have a different perspective on O&G

Clayton Williams Energy comes to mind. Could’ve easily 10x your money. Obvious play considering the vast majority of our energy needs are still met by crude and natural gas. $20 oil for any considerable amount of time is laughable.

People just need to be more responsible like you when making huge financial commitments like buying a house (and cars, etc). Know what you can really afford and not spend up to what you are "approved" for.

It's also moments like these that make the live below your means and pay-off-the-mortgage-early crowd sleep a little better.

sucks to see my portfolio down, but luckily I don't need to tap into it for a few decades, so I'm poised to ride this out. I've got a decent chunk in cash just waiting to buy a bunch while it's on sale.

probably gonna take advantage of the current interest rates and refinance the old homestead.

Short the market.

Pick some good gold stocks and stack some bullion boyos. Once the big corps start piling their money into gold it will be too late. Federal reserve has nothing left to do but cut interest rates to zero and possibly go negative. Could a gold standard come back? maybe, but I'd be hedging myself against the market right now regardless. Corona virus was never the problem, it was just the prick that popped the over inflated bubble and once the air starts coming out there's no stopping it.

So wtf do smart people do at this point? I've been steadily pouring money into my 401k and will continue on as I see the long term picture. I got my bro a brokerage account last year and he's a schitting a brick right now. What the hell do we do right now?

I know "buy" is everyone's answer, but feck chits not feeling like it's gonna resolve any time soon. Rather wait or play something safe in the meantime...

Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.
