Norway is completely different to Sweden... it's easily one of the best countries in the world to live, and it's infrastructure is better than USA's. it's also richer GBP per capita thanks to it's vast oil fund, but it has a very different model to Norway. I'd imagine the average person is far happier in Norway, but the rich are less rich and the poor are less poor. There's a million different reasons you can use, such as population size etc etc, but the fact is the quality of life in Norway, based on most objective factors is superior, regardless of the reasons.

I don't get why American's get so insulted if anyone implies they might not be the best at EVERYTHING.

This is exactly what i'm talking about, why are you so offended because a single university in Norway claimed America's infrastructure is poor, when the truth is compared to Norways it is? Why does this hurt you so much that you respond like this? Absolutely baffling.

America does a lot of things better than everyone else, but there's a lot of things other countries do better aswell and it's OK believe it or not, different countries have different systems and excel in different areas. As long as you're happy with your life, why do you get so offended?

Healthcare in the USA works if you go to the right place. Healthcare in Norway, being "free", is always going to be of lower quality and with a longer wait time.

If you went to a hospital in the US with no affirmative action hires, there's no way it could possibly be worse than the state-mandated healthcare in Scandicuck countries.

Yep, having lived there for a year and spent 5 years with my norwegian gf i've had some exposure to norway. Obviously the small population size helps a lot, but the fact is it's such a well run, and well organized country with vast wealth, nearly 0 chance of a recession (due to the massive oil fund), and a high quality of life.

America is a great place too for a lot of things of course (i've only been there a few times though), but it's very different for Norway and things like the gulf between rich and poor are contrasted massively.

Just blows my mind how people can't accept countries are different and relax, their country always has to be BETTER and any implication it might not do *some* things in the best way is met with child like hostility instead of an adult discussion lol

It's not completely free, it's subsidized by the government but there's still a fee for using the healthcare system (which stops people wasting the doctors time for minor things like in the UK). It actually works really well, better than our free healthcare in the UK.

Have you ever actually used a healthcare system outside the US, or is this just based on ignorance?

Maybe Norway should take over pharmaceutical development then. How many top 100 hospitals do they have?

Oh, they're just talking about the fact that productive citizens over there have been groomed to accept paying for healthcare services received by non contributing 3rd worlders.

Thanks for the update op but I'd rather pay the bill for a far superior hospital than pay 2x that in taxes so I can subsidize some *******.

But in seriousness, you can't compare Norway to the US and say the exact same system will work here that works there. Our system in a lot of ways really sucks but we can't adopt a single payer type system given how many proud mooches and leeches we have in our country. We have TONS of people that are perfectly satisfied to sit around and get government handouts instead of wanting to work. Norway doesn't have that problem (yet - let's see what their mass immigration does).

But nobodies claiming you can have the exact same system, nor that Norway don't have an easier time with their much smaller population.

I just don't see why people are getting so worked up, norways infrastructure IS better, a large part of that is the small population and a lot of land they have, but that's how it is.

Americans often brag about their defense budget, the size of their army and how they can 'wipe norway off the face of the earth' etc and a lot of that is only possible because of their population size and that's seemingly OKAY to compare to smaller countries because it suits ameribrahs agenda, so why can't smaller countries brag that their infrastructure is better, even if a large part of it is because they're smaller?

It does have poor infrastructure for a very well developed country though, especially compared to countries in Europe (like i said, not claiming Europe is better than USA at all, but it does do some things better and generally infrastructure is one thing.. largely due to the smaller populations involved ofc).

I write software for a global logistics company, so have seen first hand the difference in infrastructure

And it's some chitty university in Norway nobody cares about saying this, the only reason it's being given any relevance is because of how American's are reacting to it like anybody actually gives a chit. Nobody cares about this universities opinion except americans, even Norwegians don't give a chit, they are generally chilled people and i doubt would care enough about anything going on outside Scandinavia to even make such a comparison.

I love America and wish we had some of the things you have, but by many important metrics America probably would be considered a chit-hole by many Scandinavians (srs). When America is mentioned in regards to the legal system, prison system, health care, social care & school system it’s often used in the context of “look how bad it can go” or how not to do it.
Or course America is also looked to in many ways for good things, and we try to implement that or find out what we can do to achieve the same.
It is what it is.

When you say "compared to Europe" you're only comparing the top european countries and ignoring the 50% of borderline ****hole countries like majority of eastern/southern europe

I don't think that ******** post was wrong but why single the US out? There are countries right next to you that are worse at everything than the US. Just seems like some liberal commie cuck with a hate boner for the US
