If you think everyone on this forum thinks masks are great now, you are very incorrect in thinking so.
If you think trump made some people on this forum think masks are great now, your thinking is not wrong, but I'm not sure why you'd even feel the need to share such a mundane opinion.
Entire NYPD should go on strike. You'll see then how quickly the mayor changes his tone.

You retard.
Why? As long as 1 of the 2 people is wearing a mask, everyone should be good, right?

And from prior engagements I know how hard headed you can be. Still I know you have put a lot of work in on your weight and health. There is a lot of odd scary sounding stuff around this virus. Maybe it's no big deal and won't matter, but there are a lot of people that seem to have lingering symptoms.
IIRC wearing a mask reduces transmission by half. Doesn't mean you go from 100% if you are exposed you will get it down to 50%; more like from 12% infection with exposure to 6%. From a public health perspective that adds up even if it may be a small difference for each individual.
I just saw this study out of Switzerland today that was on young healthy men which found that the group which practiced social distancing did not become ill, but did develop an immune response to the virus. Which sound like by social distancing you might get just enough exposure for an inoculation effect. It is just one study and, really, there is a lot we don't know.
https://academic.oup.com/cid/article...iaa889/5864495
Methods
We prospectively studied an outbreak of COVID-19 in Switzerland among a population of 508 predominantly male soldiers with a median age of 21 years. We followed the number of infections in two spatially separated cohorts with almost identical baseline characteristics with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) before and after implementation of stringent social distancing.
Results
Of the 354 soldiers infected prior to the implementation of social distancing, 30% fell ill from COVID-19. While no soldier in a group of 154, in which infections appeared after implementation of social distancing, developed COVID-19 despite the detection of viral RNA in the nose and virus-specific antibodies within this group.
Conclusions
Social distancing not only can slow the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in a cohort of young, healthy adults but can also prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 while still inducing an immune response and colonizing nasal passages. Viral inoculum during infection or mode of transmission may be key factors determining the clinical course of COVID-19.
So maybe wear a mask when you will be in close contact with people out in public? Have you worn a mask for the flu seasons prior to this?
If you don't wear a mask, you're not a badass. If you wear a mask, you aren't some hero in a cape promoting public health safety.
Do what you want. I haven't worn one, nor will I ever. Because I don't have to, nor does it make any logical or medical sense. Thankfully I have 1,200 doctors signatures to protest in the streets without a mask for racism because that has zero impact on these old covid numbers. But you better wear it at costco or we'll kick you out and shame you on the internet for virtue!!!!

You guys feel like wearing a mask enroaches on your personal freedom or that this is some kind of conspiracy.
You guys realize the news of the Corona Virus did not start in the US and that countries all around the world are all experiencing it right? This is not a US left vs right conspiracy thing.
Also, the countries with the lowest rates of infections/deaths by virus, all wear masks when going outside. Taiwan for example has the lowest infection rate in the world despite being close proximity to China (geographically and politically). Because everybody just wears a mask when they go out, there was never even a lock down so the local economy just keep turning.
Why should you wear a mask: If you and I are standing across from each other and both of us are not wearing pants, and you pee, your pee will get on my leg. If 1 of us is wearing pants, only some of your pee will get on my leg. If BOTH of us are wearing pants, none of your pee will get on my leg.
Also to correctly wear a mask, your nose needs to be covered.
Thank you

I mean the left-wing Americans are annoyingly irresponsible with their 'mass protests can't spread COVID' nonsense but the right are absolutely full-on bat-chit science-hating retards.

Anyone still complaining about wearing a mask indoors should not be allowed to reproduce. At this point it's commonsense, even Trump who you guys dick ride finally has come to his senses. Still miscers will protest like they know more than medical professionals across the world lmao.

Can understand the decision to wear/not wear a mask depending on which data and who's expert opinion you have subscribed to and have therefore evaluated the danger/lack of danger through independent thinking
Just lol at people who won't wear a mask because they think they're going to 'die from inhaling their own CO2'. Do they even know how gases work and do they not think that if breathing through a face covering was dangerous then it would be a pretty significant proportion of all historical mortality... Masks are not airtight, if they were you wouldn't be able to breathe through them at all. You can inhale air (with oxygen) through them and you can exhale air (with CO2) through them. There is not some 'pocket' of oxygen deficient air between your mouth and a layer of material that in terms of 'trapping' gas molecules may as well not even be there.

So maybe wear a mask when you will be in close contact with people out in public? Yeah, it sucks, but being sick sucks more.

the mental gymnastics some of you go through to justify the stuff trump does is astounding. He's not playing chess and hes not smart enough to do all the stuff some of you claim hes doing
the truth is hes putting on the mask so his campaign can have ads with him wearing it for his re election. thats it. He hasnt worn one in 4 months, doesnt believe in it and at this point is only doing whats beneficial to his time in office. thats it. it has nothing to do with trolling the libs or changing the narrative or anything. its a photo and his way of spinning his efforts in the corona virus era

This is the part about politics that I can’t stand. The left bitched and bitched about him not wearing a mask. The dude adjusts and starts wearing a mask and the first thing out of your mouths is “OmG wHaT a CuCk”. The right does this chit too, it’s fuking annoying. You both act like you’re a part of some kind of team or something even though these people don’t give a fuk about you.
