Anyone who thinks reparations will help the black situation in the US needs to do some research on Natives in Canada.

They get reparations on steroids, pay zero taxes (which is an absolutely insane competitive advantage to have alone), and still do **** all with their lives over 95% of the time.

And no, they don't typically grow up on reservations. Many grew up in my same neighbourhood. Several hundred thousand dollars at age 18, free everything that's government provided, no taxes, and so on.

I get you there. That is what my first post ITT was about. (Asking him if this was his whole thing now). He has been fixated and fascinating on modern US hegemony (only from the negative perspective). So I understand focusing on the opposite aspects of it to counteract them.

I just feel compelled to point out the middle ground. Idk, it just helps me feel sane.

None of us did anything wrong to anyone (with regard to the topic), nor have any of us been a victim in this matter. OP does seem to want to try to make us feel bad for it. We shouldn’t.

More like 500. The “stealing” started with Columbus in 1492

Settlers like Ponce de Leon and de Soto were attacked and killed in the early going

Anglo-Powhatan wars were full scale happening 100 years later around the 1600s

French Indian war not long after that

Damn that's crazy. I have no idea if I could get anything different if I actually lived on the rez but as an off the res citizen we get most medical and get in to state parks for free lol. Beyond that I'm not sure what's available down here in the states and most tribes are different.

America never acted in unison to steal land. In was certain people who struck deals with them. America acted far more as independent states at the time. It wasn't till the War of 1812 that you started seeing some resemblance of state cohesion. You had a large percentage of people helping them out.

You can't give back what was never owned in the first place. Typical human arrogance. Conquest is part of the human condition. I get tired of reading people bitching and moaning about 'stealing land.' That land was here way before we were. One group of people decide to pitch a tent there. Another group of more powerful humans displaces them. Somehow, that amounts to 'stealing land.' I came here because of the Vietnam war at 3 months old. Guess who's fault that was? The AMERICANT'S, again. I would be a 5 star general in Vietnam right now if it wasn't for the American'ts butting into the East's business.

So not only did yall steal land, yall displaced me from my homeland, under the guise of giving freedom. Why do I misc then? Well its a large body building community, *******. There are plenty of online communities out there that arn't American runned. I just happen to be interested in this one, da fk?

At one time, yes, I had a lot of respect for the American "culture". Tried my best to assimilate. I hold very prestigious positions in American runned businesses. But now the skeletons have come out and I want absolutely nothing to do with yall.
