Been saying this from day one. This is just like Rodney King in the 90s. He was following procedure. The PD has good lawyers and they'll demonstrate that he was following procedure. At most, it will be manslaughter. And then we'll have more riots. Get ready for it.

Cities are going to burn if Chauvin is acquitted

yea he did rest his knee on floyd's neck but that doesn't matter...he will never be convicted of second degree murder and he'll get off..the leftist lunatics want morality policing and will only be satisfied if chauvin is sent to prison for life and/or killed

Procedure is to restrain cracked out nutcases until the medics arrive. One could argue restraining while unconscious was unnecessary. One could argue that it was the department’s policy to blame. No one can argue that it is 2nd degree murder (current charge), and 3rd degree murder will also be extremely difficult to prove.

Just saying 8 minutes is a damn long time whether resting his knee on the neck of someone or not.

Just fuked up all around.

Judging by the fact that everyone is letting rioters do as they please I doubt he walks , they’ll lock him up to please the mobs.

Either way the guy is a scumbag and so are many other cops (not all) who have killed people of all colors before and get off with a paid vacation.

The guy had his knee on his neck with his throat against concrete, that could easily kill anyone specially for 8 minutes
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

No way he'll be acquitted. I estimate the jury will be hung with 5 or more hold outs if the defense picks it right.

You'll see a follow up federal case where he'll plead guilty to a very watered down color of law charge which is what the should be aiming at, to begin with.

Going to be hard as hell to pick a jury in this one. At this point most people have heard of and already developed personal feelings on the case. Don’t envy these attorneys at all

The standard is to select them as impartial jurors, not select them if they haven't heard of the case. The venue will change and it will be mostly white jury if not all white. There may be some persons of color if the voter registration drive is decent this year though. We'll see.

I worry about jury nullification no matter the venue where the case is tried. Who hasn’t heard about George Floyd and who hasn’t seen the snippets?

Legacy media and social media will never allow for an unprejudiced trial.

These folks will be sequestered no doubt. You only need one juror to "win"

The fact that there was no trauma or bruising to Floyd's neck is going to be a doozy.

Sequestered once it starts sure, but what about the year of bias and out-of-context news leading up to it?

I firmly believe in the 80/20 rule. (well more like 92/8 lol)

Someone with sense will be sat on the jury and examine the evidence.

I don’t see how he gets acquitted personally but I’m no lawyer.

So what’s this about his family getting a second autopsy and saying it was caused by his knee? Is there any truth to that or is it one guys word against another in a case both may be biased?

Michael Baudin(?) examined the ME notes. He never examined the part of the heart that was damaged by heart disease and purposely excluded the findings to come up with "mechanical asphyxiation"

Zero validity when it comes to court. The ME report was also factored in known "facts" instead of examining the body independently. Basically the ME report already says he died of a heart attack from drugs/heart disease and officers taking him into custody.

AN independent determination will be introduced by the defense that has nothing to do with officers and will be purely based on science, not opinion.

TFWfuarkin John Olivermakes a valid point about US police accountability

(Qualified Immunity, why you can never win suing a cop in civil court. start @ 21:30)

The thing is, in police forces and armies members around the world; you don't get held accountable most times (especially the higher you rank), you don't serve time; but you get reassigned, transferred, put on paid leave til the hype/heat dies down, or in worse cases discharged with no liability for crimes. It's a practice not unique to the US.

What you think qualified immunity is a myth. So long as an officer is acting in good faith then yes immunity applies. The minute the officer violates law or policy then QI does not apply.

No one will stay on the job if passed. Supreme court upheld it time and time again. It's not going anywhere.

I know at least a dozen cops whe have lost suits and had to pay damages in both federal and state courts. Dont believe the hype, especially from a British twink who knows ****all about reality.
