I'm like an hour outside of NYC and the town/city im in is pretty much clown world. Luckily our county is one of the only red counties in NJ, lot's of money super affluent, but this town is pretty lulzy.

According to the news outlets and social media you would expect to see black people being harassed and shot by police on every corner, gays being publicly executed, women being taken advantage of in the streets, white men walking around doing nazi salutes but that's because that's the narrative they're trying to push.

Besides the occasional old bish complaining at the grocery store (as has been the case my whole life) I haven't experienced any of the chit that social media makes out to be running rampant in the country.
