Used to be like this. Went to college my freshman year and my speech class was brutal. First speech I got the worst grade in the class. We recorded all speeches to rewatch. It was so bad. Then he told the class I basically had the worst speech, why it was so bad, and how to get better. He made most people talk in front of the class every time, especially me and a few others. Act out scenes. All speeches had no note cards, no slides to read off of, etc.

What a fukking hard class but I have almost zero fear of speaking in front of others now. Well at least as long as I know what I am talking about or are prepared.

Great teacher. Basically said there is zero reason to be afraid or nervous if you know what you're talking about. Plus doing it consistently just further ingrains confidence. Rewatching your speeches shows you how much you say uhh or umms. So you become more aware of it.

Teacher was a G when it came to teaching speech. Owe that guy a lot even though I had the chits before every class and made me nervous af.
