Both are 26, been together for a year and a half (knew her since high school but we never had any contact). She did say she wanted to get a kid at 27 when we started dating. I got put off and thought meh, but life comes at you fast
My way of thinking is having a kid probably sucks as you get cucked with less freedom and a more passive role in life. Not having descendants at 50 probably sucks too. Am I wrong or do you just have to choose your suck?

Don't do it. She's moving waaaay to fcuking quick. One old school rapper said "18 years, is a loonnnng time for someone who don't even know where they'll be in 18 months."
And it's not just cucked with less freedom, You're stuck in a permanent situation, with a temporary person. Let's not forget child support, divorce, etc. If she doesn't wanna move on from this, break up with da girl and find another one, while she gets fcuked that night after the bar and gets preggo by a chump

Oh by the wy...Size f*ckng matters, in everything. Don't believe the hype. Size f*ckin maters. Size DOESN'T matter to peope who dont have any size, that's why they'r like "oh size doesn't mater". Couple of things OP - you guys aren't married so you can bail easily, but mind what I typed above. If you bail she'll probably end up in another relationship fast with a child on the way by the time she's turning 28.
The grim have/have not you said is always going to be there. Most people go the have route because it's probably a "safer" play at the end of the day. Easier to sleep at night when your kid is 18 having experienced it rather than being 60 and wishing you pushed one out

You found a keeper and it only gets harder to find women serious about settling down in your late 20s
If you want kids eventually, then just consider you likely won’t get a better opportunity than the one she presented to you on a platter
No shame in waiting until your 30s, but she’s likely pressuring you to make a decision now to see if you’re for real. Borderline looking for an excuse to hop back on the cawk carousel probably

On the flip side if you are waiting for things to be perfect before you start then give up now because it’s never perfect timing.
It’s tough but I wouldn’t trade or go back and change anything.

I have two and wouldn't change it for anything. That said, I *would not* want to do the first 4 years again.

The real question is, have you always wanted to be a father? and could you see yourself starting a family with her?
If the first answer is yes, you'll always find a reason to say it isn't the "right time," but parenthood is one of those things that everyone just figures out along the way. Most people who try and plan a pregnancy for a certain time end up frustrated.
Do you have a list of things you want to do that a child would make difficult, and are you actively working towards completing those things? If you can't answer yes to the second part of that question, then you have an honest talk with yourself. If you can, and you can see yourself starting a family with this woman, there's nothing wrong with telling her you aren't ready just yet, but be prepared to explain, in detail, with a plan, why you need some more time.
Finally, if you have always wanted kids and could see yourself doing it with her, there will never be anything more rewarding in your life and all of the things you find to be more important now will immediately, and happily, be replaced.

It's definitely easier the younger you are. Kids are a constant stress and drain on your energy levels. I wish my wife and I had our kids younger, but we were afraid of missing out on our social life in our 20's. In reality we wouldn't have missed chit but the same groundhog day bullchit every weekend.

Miscer manchild gets a gf with her natural instincts still largely intact and freaks out. Much better to have a modern metropolitan whore with a barren womb right?

Personally, I have experienced such immense suffering in my life that I decided I could never justify having children. But this decision is an individual one and you’re not going to get an answer by posting on the misc. You’re gonna have to decide on this for yourself.

I'm 28 and my only worry is I wait too long for my parents to fully enjoy being grandparents to my little ones. I'm not old by any means but my parents are definitely on the higher end for age. I could do without kids for the next couple years but not sure how I would take having kids that weren't able to spend quality time with grandma and grandpa. Doubt my situation is like most because my family is top notch. Either way good luck OP

There is no right answer.
If you have kids now you WILL regret not waiting. If you don’t have kids now you WILL regret not having them sooner..
The state of the human mind is to to find misery even if it doesn’t exist.
If you believe in God fast and pray about it. If you don’t believe in God you are already a ship without anchor so point it towards the reef, open all of the sails and let it ride

If you will not marry her right now then break up so she can marry someone else sooner amd not waste time. 25 is a good age to start having kids in a commited relationship.

26? Yeah she naturally will be in a rush now to secure some offspring.
It's your call, you know the pros and cons with all the risks. Whatever you do, if you ever get the feeling she would leave you if you wanted to wait then that's a huge red flag you're just being used as a survival tool. If you broke up would she be trying to "reproduce" fairly quickly with someone else? That answer will also help your decision.

Having a kid is great but I didn't have my first until I was 33. Great age for it, old enough to have enjoyed my 20s and some 30s with minimal responsibility, but still young enough I'll be able to beat him in basketball until he hits 18 or so. 33 isn't a realistic number for a woman so maybe let her go find someone else.
Also, make sure the woman you have kids with still lets you do your own thing when you want. I still go solo backpacking, fish a lot, can hit the bar with the boys (although they're less available because family), and that's because she understands i need to still be myself. Also I make sure she gets plenty of time for her hobbies and friends.

I have one friend who is married with a kid. What I know is that he went from a party animal having lots of fun to now getting zero sleep, getting dragged to baby showers and dumb sht like that, not being able to do things he used to enjoy because if the baby cries, it's game over. Terrible life IMO, don't do it OP. You WILL regret it especially since you got nauseous at the idea.

Update: Told her I felt we're a bit too early yet. She said it was fine and will wait if thats I want. But she didn't really like how I said Mena Suvari got preggers at 41 yesterday lmfao. Partner/wife wise shes a ten and we will make it. Also said "what do you think you can't do with a kid that you want to do then?". Both in a better mood after our talk either way.
Otherwise thread is kind of like I assumed, bachelors who err on the freedom/youthful side, and fathers on the other. Now if there were fathers who openly regretted it it would be juicy
I also wanted input as immediate reactions and emotions aren't objective by any measure, but rather just generated by what concepts and images we personally have by what we've learned and assumed.

Having kids REALLY REALLY changes your life and puts strain on your relationship no matter who you are. If you are on the fence, I wouldnt do it. On top of that, its hard when you dont have to worry about money, I cant imagine what its like when you do have to worry about money.

Depends on how you see your future, if you're having any doubts then its probably not meant to be. This is a huge commitment and you're going to be passing on your genes, do you want it to be with her genes? Think about it but sounds like a no go from your original post.

How selfish are you? If you're a selfish person and you aren't feeling it, not a good idea. So much money and time just goes bye-bye. I'm glad I only had 1.
