My dad is seriously the GOAT

Back in my home country, when he was in university he led a protest against some corrupt politician and got arrested for it. It led to a larger movement and the ******* politician was eventually removed.

Became a successful lawyer but gave up everything he and my mother (teacher) built to come to Canada for a better life. Started off as a factory worker while we were renting a small apartment in a rough part of the city. Saved enough to start a business and now owns a house worth well over a million. Still works 7 days a week... work ethic is simply unmatched.

As I've gotten older we talk less and don't hang out nearly as much but I guess that's when you're adults with your own life.

Also sorry to hear about all the people that had absent or abusive fathers

The fact that you made it despite you're predicament speaks volumes

To all the bros saying their dads treated them like chit, do you think having a abusive dad is better than having no dad at all or vice versa?

Here is the pic I found. He is probably 260lbs here. He was shrugging 140lb dbs for like sets of 30-40 (you can tell by his neck). Doing chest flies with 80lb dbs. I was maybe 180lbs here lol.

my dads made mistakes like any other dad but he always busted his ass providing for his family and instill values in my brother and I. (hard work mostly)

he's a great dude and always has our backs. he's been there to help both financially and to give advice

Partial, socially checked relationship is better than none. Some stuff like alcoholic violence can give you TBE or something, so obviously worse than none at all.
