since this is Netflix GERMANY it doesn't necessarily has to be the case

I saw 2 German Netflix original series so far and one was an absolute masterpiece and the other is pretty solid as well (Dark & How to Sell Drugs Online Fast)

so I'm definitely gonna check this one out without prejudice

That’s exactly what I was talking about. Loved AC season 1 but there was so much wrong with season 2, I gave up half way through the last episode.

Just watched episode 1. Not sold on it yet but it was good enough for me to continue.

Having the Romans actually speaking latin is a nice touch. Helps with the immersion.

It's not fully known. A lot of Germanic and later Scandinavian writing include Schildmaids(Shield-Maidens), but there is no hard archaeological ecidence. Some historians theorize female Germanic warriors actually existed, but noone knows.

Up until recently, ancient Rome has always been depicted as pasty Englishmen (or occasionally Muricans and Aussies) speaking with native accents in their native language. It would make a change to see LATIN being spoken.

I'm not going to put money in the coffers of Netflix just for this one show, but will keep an eye open for other platforms on which to view it.
