The city should offer that person a job at the prevailing wage for a social worker and have him answer every single call where a violent felon is the subject. Alone or with anther reddit pal.

We'll see how quickly he changes his mind while making $15/hr to get shanked behind a dumpster.

Obviously social workers shouldn't be called in to stop violent armed assaults or any violence for that matter.
A good system might however involve a social worker months or years before those situation arise and could theoretically prevent some of them in the first place.
