First of all, language barrier was a big thing, I would not have called myself "fluent" in Russian until I was here about 2-3 years. It's a tier 1 difficult language for foreigners imo. Nowadays though, yeah I have mostly Russian friends. Almost all foreigners have left the country by now because Russia has basically been slowly kicking everyone out who doesn't have actual legal documents for being here due to all this COVID bullchit. I have a green card though so I'm good (as a "highly skilled foreign specialist" because I work in IT, basically the equivalent to a H1-B visa in the US).

As for living conditions, I live in a little 1BR flat that's actually pretty poverty tbh. It's kind of a long story, but I ended up needing to find a place with the quickness about a year and a half ago and then all the COVID bullchit happened so I've just been rotting ever since. My former flat (the one from which I had to flee) got sold while I was living there-- scumbag owner-- but it was right on that main road Nevsky I was showing in the video. Cost about $750/mo and was 80 sq meters. It's cheap here brah.
