,I kinda understand why some wear it outside.

One time in I was ordered to attend a big ceremony, I was dressed up like this:

after the ceremony they messed up my transportation but my base was 10 mins away by foot so I just walked. Damn I got catcalled by women before but dude, it was never like that day. That 10 mins of walking some literally wanted to rape me.

I wanted to walk around like that all day but obv I did not lol. Used to cringe at people who walk around in uniforms& false valor but now I get it completely.

It happens. But it happens in every industry. We can go to the store right now and find people in scrubs, cops who just got off work, etc. it is a normal thing.

I will acknowledge there are some people who do it for attention. I’m not naive enough to say it doesn’t happen. From my experience, that usually involves young enlisted members, with little time in service.

I mean, in military towns next to bases, everyone is in or somehow associated with the military. No one gives a chit about someone in uniform lol.

Yeah.

My boot camp was the only thing going on in the small town it was in. Everything was associated to it: restaurant names, monuments, streets, architechture. And business owners there loved taking our money. For them it is really easy to guess you are under service they just spot you and yell at you "hey my commander come check my wares". Imagine an 18 yo who is getting chit all day in training hearing that someone called him commander. Easy prey.
