What pistol do you carry when you are in bear country OP?
What would you personally recommend?

Honestly, I don't carry chit. I bring a 22 mag to dispatch bears in traps.

Unless in a park where bears are habituated to humans, most run off without issue. If I wanted to feel totally comfortable if pick a Smith and Wesson 686 in .350 mag. I have seen bears hit with pepper spray and they don't like it, but they come back eventually.

These are black bears, which are naturally timid. I think of them like big raccoons. I do nuisance animal control and almost every problem bear was created by people leaving garbage around, and the bears associate people with food.

That causes problems. Wild bears run away, and generally speaking nuisance bears run away too.

I have no experience with grizzlies

Funny this thread would pop up today. Last night before bed one of my high school exes popped up on ******** and she is also an LTC blonde with a bad boob job.
