Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.

Went to 4 different HS, but they were more or less the same. Didn't want to be bothered, so I was treated like a "rebel" by most faculty and other students. Didn't really fit in with any group so I was that kid who sat at the randoms lunch table. Met a few good people there too.
Most of my problems were at small town schools where being different was basically not tolerated until the mid-2000s when the goth/scene stuff started to become trendy.

I was always good in school. I always made 99th percentile on the state tests and when I was in 7th grade me and 2 guys from my class got invited to the state capital where we took the ACT and an IQ test. After puberty I really didn't give 2 chits about school. I kept As and Bs throughout high school and college but never really tried much and smoked a metric chit ton of the devil's lettuce and tried my best to kill my liver with Keystone light. 30 stones for 10 bones is hard to beat lol. I wouldn't say I regret it much since GPA doesn't mean jack fukn chit 99% of the time. I should have spent more time making connections and joining clubs and chit in college though.
All you college boyos listen up. Network your ass off. Every single person I know that got a great job out of college did this. I live in a poor as fuk state though so maybe just having a good GPA will work somewhere that money is easy to come by

3.3 GPA in high school.. Hardly ever studied, took a crazy Sr. slide after football was over and just showed up and got a couple C's and a D that last semester
College was 2.9 GPA, never knew what I wanted to do and wasted some $$ on CC classes I barely tried in.. Only got an Associates degree
Got hired for something I never went to college for (Healthcare IT).. my current career doesn't involve either my degree nor IT stuff. I would say overall my college degree and $$ spent was kind of worthless in hindsight

I needed a "Literature inquiry" class and it was all that was available, but it was fun as hell. Basically open forum discussion about King Arthur stories which are a blend of ancient history, religion, allegory, and comedy. Teacher was this sarcastic Japanese dude who knew King Arthur like the back of his hand. Was also the first time I watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
That class made me jelly of English majors. Science is all tasks/procedure/math/assignments/studying but that class was just chilling out and talking about books.

This concept is overrated for kids that age imo, and it can run into problems. Better to just study the subjects and learn the material, and not be so focused on who is more special because they can do basic math. This, along with pulling kids aside to take IQ tests like someone mentioned above....sheesh. You hear in the news every once in a while...”12 yr old surpasses Einstein’s IQ”.....sorry, no.
