IDK.

I'm still into it but I've always been loosely disciplined.

Sort of like a happy middle.

At this point I mostly eat healthy, try and workout 3-5 days a week minimum.

Counting calories, tracking macros was always lulz only thing to track is simple net carbs, that's if you're leaning out.

I look at it as a lifestyle conducive to good health and being able bodied so it's not a waste of time at all.

If anything most other things not being health conscious (like the, games) are the real waste of time.

BRB worrying about some fictitious character instead of myself.

Congrats on taking being cucked to an existential level

I'm in the best shape of my life, certainly better than I was 5-10 years ago when I was obsessed with going to the gym. My heart is healthier, joints healthier, and my cardio is way better because I practice kickboxing instead of squatting 4 plates once a week.

Like I said, exercise is important, but you will eventually grow out of the phase you're in, you're just taking a lot longer than most (that's probably been a common theme throughout your life).

My post hurt your feelings and you negged me (oh no not my internet points!) because it reminded you of where you are in life. Yikes!

Never been obsessed with how I looked I just loved following programs and seeing my strength go up. Looking good was just a secondary benefit.

Got decently strong before realizing the risk/reward was getting too high. Getting a 2.5x bw DL, 2x squat, etc vs 3x DL... didn’t make much difference but I felt more clunky.

Was depressing losing that for a year or two, but I found it again by setting little challenges for myself like being able to do 20 solid one arm push ups with good form - focusing on that for a few months. How long before I can do 10 unbroken pull ups with + 1/3 of my bodyweight. 5 mile time, etc.
They’re little side projects for me and keep me healthy

But yeah unless you can pull in 300-400k a year from your body and keep that up for 5-10 years there’s no real benefit in spending your days entirely focused on it

Nobody asked you to stay so why are you still here?

Where I grew up, like Japan or the martial arts community, we'd rather leave quietly than make a statement, especially when we give up halfway something once we believe in our lives.

Here in misc, everyday, someone makes a statement like "That's it, I had it and you are all wasting your time, LOL. Good bye, misc" and shows up the next day as if nothing happened.

You are all free to leave anytime, so the question is,

Why can't you pay some more respect to the people and the community that once you belonged to.
Many people don't know what respect and self-respect is in many places, especially the US, and it's sad.

I enjoy training and pushing myself to my body's potential and that won't change at any age. When I am 50 I intend to be competing in triathlons/BJJ and busting out iron crosses, 3 plate benches and backflips

As for the "bodybuilding lifestyle" or posing on social media I couldn't give a chit, not interested in that at all except for OJ and following a good diet/training program. If it's the main thing in your life/personality it's a bit sad

Exercise is important, but the whole bodybuilding lifestyle is just a phase. Those who never grow out of it end up being losers in their 30's posting gym flexing pics on social media just like they did 10 years ago, nothing else to show for their life other than a higher bench (which literally no one cares about at all)
Literally no one cares about ur kids or beta provider cuked lifestyle u literal insecure jealous beta provider lmao

Like literally, what is it there to care about with people like you..(srs question)That you turned into a fat fuk and aged 20+ years from playin happy wife happy life while your wife rails chads in ONS? How is that an achievement lmao

This dude is 31 and can make your wife cheat on you in a ons in a heartbeat(from body alone) all while you give ur time energy and attention to her lol, while hating on dudes like this

ur basically saying this dude is a loser and you are the winner for being a cukhold beta provider. Just lol

I built a home gym when I first started lifting so it was never about the social aspect or "clout" for me. It's just something I can step into my garage and do whenever I want or when I'm bored. I don't need to get dressed into gym gear, drive 10 minutes then hope the machines/equipment I need are free or worry about covid type restrictions.

lol at the family copers saying 'you dont get that time back'.

Listen, you can say you have a family and it's important to spend time on that - or career - or whatever excuse you want. But call it what it is - an excuse. Your work out time isnt eating into that. It's eating into watching Netflix. Running errands with your wife. Sleeping in. Mowing the lawn. Or whatever BS you fill your life with. The second you give up on regular exercise is when you're ok with your body decaying, and calling it quits on experiencing life to the fullest.

No one is saying you need to be some selfie taking, supplement buying, gym bro who cares about taking shirtless pics for instagram. Hell, you don't even have to lift. Go cycling, rowing, rock climbing, etc. There are a million things you can do.

If you have a family and your 'priorities' change then change the reason for why you go to the gym. Yea looking good for random sloots doesnt matter now. But being physically strong to protect your family does. Being built to establish confidence and respect in the workplace does. Being able to pass healthy habits and teaching your child something meaningful does. Being able to be in great shape to live as long as possible does. Being able to stay attractive to your partner does. Being physically able to go on a multi day hike with your adult son when you're in your 60s does.

If you can't make time to work out then you are throwing all of that away - and that's way more valuable than hour #55 in the office for the week, or being present for when your son is eating cheerios every single morning, or anything else. Your choice - just know it's not only an excuse but a pathetic one.

Lift till I’m ded crew, as I feel like absolute chit when I don’t lift . I’m older and still see the benefits of resistance training. I can’t be bothered ego tripping anymore, and don’t do single reps trying to set a PR .
Couldn’t imagine not lifting though

Not sure how anybody "grows out of" the gym lifestyle. During lockdown I couldn't lift for 6 months and it affected just about everything in my life. Mood was down, got irritated often, no appetite, etc etc. Not everybody is lifting to post pics on instagram or mog commoners on the street.

Why the fack were you living the "bodybuilding" lifestyle if you are not a competitive bodybuilder in the first place *******? Other than that any sane male who is not beta soya boy can and should find 1-1,5 hours a day for 4-5 days a week to lift some weights, and also eat some meat to get that protein. That's just called being a man and nothing even close to a bodybuilding lifestyle
