I’d disagree, back country skiing or snowboarding where you’re riding off cliffs or if you are riding park and hitting handrails or flying off table tops takes a lot more balls than riding around on a snowmobile lol

I'm so terrible at golf makes me want to shoot myself srs. Haven't played tennis yet, but I really want to try it. I love ping pong and I imagine it is similar

Started boarding this year, I've gone about 5-6 times now. Picked it up pretty quickly and am practicing carving now. I bought my gear last summer with the mindset of I have to learn how to do this no matter what. I'm not afraid to fall or get hurt, but I try to go on days where its a heavy powder day or early morning so its not ice.

Skiing to me always looks more dangerous since there's so many moving components but I'd like to try that and get the hang of it as well

When I learned as a kid the biggest thing was falling and hurting my ass bone (tail bone I guess) .... would be learning how to carve and then catch an edge and wipe out and fall on my ass

So my parents dressed me in hockey gear lmao

I wore hockey pants over my snow pants and elbow pads and there were no more problems whenever I fell - I also think wearing a helmet is important srs ... concussions are no joke

I always wear a helmet, I think its from being on motorcycles and dirtbikes my whole life. I just don't go above running speeds without a helmet lol.

I cringe when i see my friends who are noobs at boarding grab some fireball and start ripping down the mountain without a helmet. just waiting to catch an edge lol

Oh I know rich people aren't all *******s boyo, probably just a subset that creates the stereotypes. Working around cottages and on wealthy properties, I've met a lot of friendly and helpful rich people.

My curiosity was more towards the skiing and snowboarding community. It's kind of an exclusive sport where a lot of people can't afford it, like another poster above pointed out. So I thought maybe it created an atmosphere that wasn't too welcoming to those who aren't like them.

I don't know anyone who skiis or snowboards regularly, so I was wondering about stereotypes.

Yeah I guess that it would depend on the level of exclusivity and doesn't really apply to large ski resorts. I know what you mean about uppity, but in my experience most rich people I've encountered were pleasant. Maybe it's because I was doing work for them or around them and they were genuinely interested, but maybe not.

I was just wondering if it was a "clique" type of environment.
