I don't get the nitpicking of examples or denying of the dangers of said virus.

OP, you should at some point have recognised that posting random anecdotes like this is meaningless and stupid. We've had over 100k excess deaths in the UK since the start of the pandemic, and they correlate very closely with COVID19 cases and hospitalisations (eg. in the summer, when COVID levels were very low, we had no excess deaths).

So we have nearly 100k people dead who wouldn't be dead if it wasn't for COVID19 - and that's with huge amounts of restrictions/mitigation measures in place. A virus which is ~3x as contagious as the flu and around ~10x as deadly.

I've heard rational arguments against lockdowns and all of them start with recognising the severity of the virus - so this is dumb and I think even you know it.
