I'll pass on all three. The right move would be to settle down somewhere in the ozarks. Buy a couple of dozen acres of land and just chill. Ride tractors, wrestle with the boys, go squirrel hunting, fishing etc.

$160k in NYC can get you a comfortable life in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island. But you won't be able to afford Manhattan, which is probably what you're thinking about with this thread.

I would probably go with Atlanta, even though I hate hot weather.

Boston, besides the city there is Salem, Gloucester, Plymouth and the Cape close by. ATL after that

I wouldn't live in Boston or NY for any less than 300k/year as I'd spend all my free time getting as far away as I could. Can't think of a place I'd pick in the US that would be lower on my list than those two actually.

So obviously my choice is Atlanta, but I'd definitely move into one of the suburbs. Atlanta is ok.

NY naysayers say so because you can’t afford a 2,000 sqft apt on a 160k salary. Who gives a fukk if you’re a single guy you don’t need a big place to park your chitty SUV and tractor like you can in the ozarks

Better bang for your buck outside of Manhattan and you get the many benefits of NY that chits on the other two hands down w it’s eyes closed. Just more opportunity overall srs especially after they elect a tough on crime mayor this summer

Although housing is crazy expensive in Boston proper you can commute into the city via train from fairly far out. I like Boston, fits my hobbies (Traditional Irish Music being one). Atlanta - ugh commute is killer even if it is cheaper.
