Ecery fuking thing is gone up. My grocery used to be close to $200 before covid. Now it’s close to $320. This is for 2 weeks for several people mid to high quality food. About 50% is so called organic. And this does not include meats.
Beef and chicken is another $150 per 2 weeks. Used to be $100-ish
Awful fuking crazy when I think about how much I spend on groceries.
Can’t even imagine what it’ll be like when I start dining out again. Fuk

There was a frozen breakfast meal i always bought because it was low cal, high protein, and didn't taste bad for a microwavable. Ha, in US appetizer, entrée, and drink is like $25 minimum now. $6-$8 apps, $12-15 entree, and $2.50-$3.90 for a drink. Then tax....GG

agree. 5 guys would be great if it was $2 cheaper for burger/$5/meal. Pretty good burger for fast food, good fry portions, but i cant bring myself to drop $12 on a burger combo when a burger at a restaurant is usually about that price (with fries), bigger, higher quality meat, and cooked better.

Also you can get a bacon cheese burger with medium fries from Burger King for less than $4 as well. How the hell can you justify $18 on burger/fries/drink from Five Guys when you can get these deals for only $4. Brb might as well buy 4 bacon cheeseburgers and 4 medium fries instead of the 1 five guys meal.

For me personally, it is all about the ground beef to fat ratio.
I think five guys uses 80/20 and that makes for a juicy burger, sometimes too juicy as it soaks through the bun but tastes great.
Most of these use the same type of hot flat metal surface( same as philly steak) for cooking, so unless the seasoning is amazing, they are similar.

I don't want to spend close to $20 on a burger meal. For that range I'd rather go get some sushi or some chit.
