I got a ban a couple weeks back for accidentally repping someone, apparently they were a 'troll' (the post I saw was ok), they were a new account, but I guess they were a bad dude so I took a ban for green'ing them.

Responding to Wincel is at least as bad, I would think.

Wait a minute - you took a ban because you repped someone that was a troll? How is that possible/allowed? I thought the point of the rep scheme was to rep/neg a post and not necessarily the poster. In fact I was warned because there is someone that posts on other subs here and routinely posts bad advice, insight, and rude comments and I would neg them as I saw them. Apparently he ran to the mods after a bit and I was told that was a violation of the rep system.

Exactly - and he treats STEM as the end all be all and nothing else matters - almost like Spock with logic - and not recognizing that while science is great there are other factors involved for political policy. Which is really funny cause on non-scientific matters he takes a very different approach.

I hope not. I rarely post R/P these days -- had my fun here, but sticking around here is like overstaying at a party: after a while it becomes a mistake.
