For big cases like this, this is the best option. A panel of judges are the most educated and competent to handle a case like this without bias. They also won't feel pressured from the others. Chauvin was finished the moment the jurors were selected

I think the idea behind "a jury of your peers" is to give us the ppl a say in deciding whether the law was broken, rather than leaving it to judges (i.e., elitists) to decide our fate. Also, judges can be bought easier than jurors (because you can protect identity of jurors).

I do agree that an unintended consequence of jurors being "we the ppl" is that the way corporate america is, the smartest ppl try to get out of jury duty because they don't have time, so we practically end up with a jury comprised of old ppl, unemployed ppl, or just bottom of the barrel ppl.

Because already been talked a bunch OP. We've all come to conclusion that this in itself isn't gonna win over on appal, but on totality with other aspects (change of venue due to civil suit announcement, Maxine Waters comments, etc.) It has a small chance. Very small

MLK remberence event.

Defense had a chance to remove this juror on selection after he said he viewed BLM as "Very Favorable", but they didn't. They thought they could win even with him on the jury.

Unfortunately its not being applied equally to people that have issues with the government but are destroying their local communities. Instead of going after the government that caused those things, they go after people in their communities and face little to no punishment. Sad.


no when you're clearly bias and lie to the courts, you should not be allowed to be a juror. Regardless if you find Chauvin guilty or innocent, he deserves a fair trial. Which I don't think anybody can really argue he was given a fair shake. The results should probably remain the same, but regardless if they got it 'right' or not. He deserves every right that every other person should have when going through the justice/court system.


On a side note, it's always comical watching jayfraud's takes. One of the least educated people on these forums. Yet he continues rambling about things he has absolutely no grasp on.

Agreed. Regardless of how you feel about Chauvin, who I think is an idiot, if there is a conflict of interest when it comes to the juror, this is something that is important because this could affect all of us.
