You did it you lot. You unraveled DNA and at the same time you're cultivating bacteria strong enough to kill every living thing. Hands up, hands up who think's the've got it right. Yeah? there's always one, If you want the position of god then take the responsibility.

I’ve seen people say that they wear one because they don’t want to come across as an anti masker. Covid has seriously messed people up in the head. The logic now is mind boggling.

In some places its still required.

Where I am from you cannot enter a store, restaurant, cafe etc without one. Does not matter if you are vacced or not.

This whole situation is mind numbing.

A lot of you need clarification on what “airborne transmission” means. Not your fault, as the media fear mongers and regular Joe’s aren’t scientists or physicians.

Initially it was thought COVID-19 was droplet transmission. Viral pathogens are spread via sneezes, cough, etc. This is not the definition of airborne. Airborne transmission are smaller, infectious particles which can travel distances and remain viable while in the air for an extended period of time.

You are now educated.
Carry on.

A mask does not:had no effect on viral transmission. The main transmission path is long-residence-time aerosol particles (< 2.5 μm), which are too fine to be blocked, and the minimum-infective dose is smaller than one aerosol particle.

It is here too. I understand people wearing it because it’s required. People that choose to because they don’t want to come across as an anti masker even if vaccinated is just retarded.

Im actually very upset with myself for getting the vaccine. I honestly would have paid thousands to get a fake card. However I know that I wouldnt be able to travel without it.

Where?
I’m in Cali, & have never worn one. Only places I ever got kicked out of was a couple furniture stores. Was a good thing, found better quality elsewhere.

Stop going to big box stores & chain restaurants. Support local owned

Yes, in hospitals for example there are very specific policies for airborne vs droplet vs contact. That said, a lot of places treated this as airborne very early on. I’ve seen care homes and hospitals that haven’t though.

The cruise ship that was parked and had it run through (likely ducting) convinced me it was airborne very early on. Droplets don’t do that even if coughing directly into the duct. They tried explaining it with surface contact (fomites) but the evidence of transmission from that has been dropping more and more, only further supporting the airborne route.

I personally don’t think it’s a bad idea in flu season. The problem is that partial compliance is much less effective but everyone should have a choice. My kid is asthmatic and viral respiratory issues hit her hard, so we will likely wear them at times (busy Christmas shopping?). This last year has been great for her asthma As she hasn’t gotten sick once. I’m not saying that’s due to the masks but it likely helped. I think increased stress on hand hygiene has been this biggest factor.

Not good enough. I'm actually posting from space in my space suit.

A vaccine allows you immune system to identify a pathogen, and build antibodies against it so that when it encounters it again (for real this time), those antibodies are already programmed and ready to go (very simplistic explanation).

If you are exposed to covid after a vaccine you can still get it, are possibly still contagious but likely will fight it off quickly.
HOPEFULLY, you get rid of it before having symptoms or developing enough of a viral load to spread it. This would be ideal but seems to be what people expect. They don’t have that data and everybody is different so it’s hard to make blanket statements.

Masks are primarily meant to prevent spread from an infected person (that’s why surgeons wear them, to protect the patient). An N95 is meant to protect the person wearing it. That is different.

This policy is based on the possibility they you could still be contagious despite being vaccinated and that you are preventing transmission to others. Not sure on efficacy but that’s the theory.

march 8, 2020, we see covid transmission pattern within a call center that is entirely consistent with being airborne (seehttps://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/8/20-1274_article- this is even published on their own site in Aug 2020)

another thing that seems ridiculous is the plexiglass ppl rushed to put up, yes it will block ppl sneezing/coughing direct particles, but plenty of the time it is bc of the duration of time and airflow pattern

thats not to say this is some fearmongering, it just feels like another instance where the public health stance + public messaging is completely off the mark. when you say, oh jk lol it is actually airborne!!, over a year after, you really wonder what is going on. makes people who say "DONT QUESTION THE SCIENCE / public guidance" look like shills imo
There were reports and studies out of China early on that said it was airborne, but here that was denied [too scary]. IIRC one event in China was a city bus and another was some type of tea shop or cafe.
