Meh, people take it too seriously. Regarding R&P, a lot of those guys have known one another for years, over multiple accounts, and probably ended up agreeing on something at some point. I’m convinced that most would play golf with some of the same posters they argue with daily, though some might talk chit about it after the game.

Why not just make R&P member only?

They did that with the MMA section years ago because of the influx of trolls. It ended up killing the sub section.

I’m sure the misc isn’t a good look for the company but I’m sure it’s the only thing still driving any kind of traffic here. Bad move imo. This might trully be the nail in the coffin.

I agree, people do take it too seriously. That's why it causes business problems. I've seen edgy neo-nazi chit since like middle school, and that wasn't even on the internet. It took on the same character, poorly concealed due to its shameful nature. This shame and secrecy is what attracts social outcasts and creates this persecution complex.

I don't keep track of the specific users, but it's usually the threads about Africans, Jews, or Chinese. The third one changes every few years or so, but the first two are always popular. People say things like joggers because they are too afraid to say the actual word, which is a word invented by European slave merchants to describe their commodities. Same with cliche sounding Jewish surnames.

That kind of closeted hate is what attracts the cancel culture chit and all the thought policing that comes with it.
