If people were willing to invest and renew the public transportation infrastructure we would have all the ecological benefits and less emissions without the need to mine phucken earth to oblivion for rare earth minerals.

Society should try to work in a more symbiotic way with nature. IE roof gardens, bio-diverse lawns, and sh!t like that. All the CLIMATE CHANGE sh!t is 99% political, though. Eat the bug paste! Putting more (decent) bus stops and cleaner nicer "green" buses would solve the mobility problem overnight at a tiny fraction of the cost.

I know I'm over simplyfing but improving on public transportation and rail connectivity would solve mobility issues with relative ease and real benefits for the environment

I would rather deal with that problem than with massive ecological damage to the whole planet

Agreed, in the end we are all getting cucked by the oligarchs. Real solutions for those problems would requere a shift in how we live and more importantly in how and what we consume.

Slight changes in urban planning + public transportation + workforce habits (like working from home) would have more profound benefits from all Than simply replacing all cars with shinier new electric cars (imagine the billions in sales for example)

Wind + solar are used to pump water to an elevated reservoir during the day, so the energy is used directly without the need for batteries. At night the water is used to generate hydroenergy with the help of gravity and such.
