You're trying to tell me you need to live without roommates to be alive for more than one day?
You trying to tell me that you need internet at home and not on your free obamaphone or at the public library?
You're telling me you need money for:
The civic engagement component is constructed using 2019 national
expenditure data by household size from the 2019 Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer
Expenditure Survey including: (1) Fees and admissions, (2) audio and visual equipment and
services, (3) pets, and (4) toys, (5) hobbies, and playground equipment, (6) other entertainment
supplies, (7) equipment, and services, (8) reading, and (9) education. Civic engagement costs cover
expenses related to participating in and engaging in civic activities.
To stay alive for more than one day?
Lol, Karen please
They are touting this as what you need to live, and clearly these things are not required for living. So any wage that is derived from these incorrect assumptions is also incorrect
This is the main problem with the "living wage" argument and trying to actually build ****ing policies around this nonsense

A living wage is such an arbitrary phrase. Basic needs including all the civic expenditures is a joke.

So in our society, we should only allow those who are rich enough to procreate? You realize they have government systems in place so poor people can procreate so they can work low end jobs right?
You're not thinking bigger picture and shows your immaturity......who would run factories if poor people who struggle all their lives didn't procreate? Oil fields? Warehouses? Fast food?
Our economy would 100% collapse if your logic was implemented. You should educate yourself before saying such silly things.

Heres something you dolts really have never thought of.......
You know companies create road maps right? Projections of the company in 3-5-10 years?
You know countries do the same exact thing right? You realize USA has a 50-70 year road map at all times projecting where it will be. You think it doesn't allow for illegal immigration? Unwed pregnancies? baby booms? unlivable wages? debt beyond our eyeballs and beyond our comprehension?

A source to back this up
"In 2020, 73.3 million workers age 16 and older in the United States were paid at hourly rates, representing 55.5 percent of all wage and salary workers."
"The percentage of hourly paid workers earning the prevailing federal minimum wage or less declined from 1.9 percent in 2019 to 1.5 percent in 2020. This remains well below the percentage of 13.4 recorded in 1979, when data were first collected on a regular basis."
So 1.5% (The percentage of hourly paid workers earning the min wage or less) of 55.5% (The percentage of workers who are hourly) is 0.8% roughly

Plus, you DO have to start somewhere, so if you start with unlivable wages...imagine making $12/hr in my neck of the woods in NorCal.

What else do I not "need?" A microwave? A car? A pair of shoes? Need is relative.
Try applying this model to a standard way of life in any city it's proposed in. Instead of arguing benign points that circumvent the issue, try imagining what it looks like to live on the wages proposed. Your essential stance of all poor people living in Favela's for eternity because they don't "need" xyz is nonsensical.
I'm not saying people should be buying PS5's when they make $12/hr, but this silly prevalence of "yOu DoN't NeEd A LaMp!1!1! tHe SuN iS FrEe!1!" is ridiculous.

Can't say if it is accurate or not, but that sort of thing seems like it could be good to know if you are looking to move to a more expensive area.
