For anyone thinking no way will enough people comply for this to take off, well look at the last year and a half.

Plus, avoiding all the methane gasses from cows is good.
I hope I don't get a bunch of tinfoil hat responses back, why are some of you in here against it? Intelligent answers only please.

Sure we have 90 million cows in the US, but there used to be 60 million higher methane producing bison roaming around. Now just 500,000 bison in the US. There are at least 25 million LESS elephants than a couple centuries ago in Africa alone. The list can go on and on. While elephants are not livestock, they also produce an incredible amount more of GHGs than cows, including methane. Point being, more livestock today is merely a different source for the same amount of greenhouse gases being produced by animals before the industrial revolution.A thousand lbs is one cow per day. I guess if they can scale up a lot then it'll be practical. But I don't see how an entire factory could use less greenhouse gases per year, producing 365 cattle worth of beef than just raising 365 cattle on a field eating grass. Haven't looked into it much so I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info. If it helps decrease/end animal suffering and tastes roughly the same as real meat, then why not?

The decrease in mono crops will likely happen but won't be substantial. If anything lab grown meat would decrease demand for chitty mono crops like transgenic soy and sorghum.and you don't need manure for growing crops in a perma culture model.

Look at that uber expensive lab equipment and multi million or even billion investment just to make an uber complicated fake meat.
Food shortages and a lot of the ecological problems were facing would be over if kunts simply changed their diets and ate less meat, but no, selfish kunts gotta have their daily stake. Even cutting meat consumption in half would have massive environmental benefits. Switching to a plant based diet is the only way to go about food shortages and environmental preservation, you would be surprised at the billions of tons of grain and crops that are wastefully used to feed livestock, same with water and land use. Our current meat production model is a disaster and this is without even mentioning ethics which is another topic but looking at it purely logically its a huge mess

If we were to go read a newspaper and look at all the global concerns of the world that has something to do with the environment, you will never see meat production in any of them. This is because one will never think that eating meat will cause so much harm to the environment. But here in this post, we will show you how eating and producing meat can bring so much harm to the environment in different parts of the environment.
Energy Consumption
It is said that 28 calories of fossil fuel energy can be used to produce 1 calorie of meat protein for human consumption. More than one third of all fossil fuel that is produced in America are used to feed industrial farm animals. According to research, by producing one hamburger uses enough fossil fuel to drive a small car of 20 miles. It takes about ten times the fossil fuel input as calorie of plant protein when producing one calorie of animal protein, which means that ten times the amount of CO2 is emitted.
Climate Change
More than half of the global greenhouse emissions are caused by animal agriculture. A lot of crops are being grown just so that animals can be fed and the gases emitted by the greenhouses affects climate change. The amount of CO2 produced in the meat industry is more than the CO2 produced by vehicles around the world.
Water use
It takes an enormous amount of water to grow crops for animals to eat, clean factory farms, and give animals water to drink. A single cow can drink up to 50 gallons of water per day or twice the amount in hot weather. It takes more than 2,400 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef.
Waste Disposal
It used to be good for the soil when animals excrete on them. It makes the soil well nourished and fertilized for the growth of crops but nowadays, the waste that these animals make exceeds the necessity of the planet causing the factories to throw these excess waste into the bays, rivers and oceans. These rivers that carries these waste contains excess nitrogen that most of the marine species are dying. All industrial farm animals even produces 130 times more amount of waste compared to human beings. Nutrients in these animal waste causes the bloom of algae, which uses up the oxygen in the water, causing the aquatic life to have insufficient oxygen to survive.
Land Use
Acres of lands are used not just to grow industrial farm animals. Lands are also used to grow crops not just for consumption of human beings but also for the consumption of these industrial farm animals. About 56 million acres of land are used to grow crops for animals while only about 4 million acres are producing plants for the consumption of human beings. Deforestation occurs in rainforests to graze these livestock animals. It take almost 20 times less land to feed a person with a vegan diet than to feed a meat-eater as these crops are consumed directly. It takes almost 20 times less land to feed someone on a plant-based (vegan) diet than it does to feed a meat-eater since the crops are consumed directly instead of being used to feed animals. It takes up to 10 pounds of grain to produce only 1 pound of meat.

You can literally Google "meat production energy waste" and read dozens of academic articles on the subject. It's not a point of view it's and accepted fact that our current meat production model is not efficient at all.

When it comes raisign your own animals chickens are the best option.
I have a couple chickens that I mostly use to Control insects In my compost. They keep it on point and I don't have to spend anything on feeding them. I give the eggs to my friends since I'm vegan but I see it as a viable option for many
Compost + chickens = goat mix
You can use your compost to grow more food, it's like an infinite loop. You compost your organic waste to get more compost and your compost gives you new rich vegetables. It's so rich on nutrients that even the leftover little seeds that are left on it start to grow as soon as you lay it out on its place, it's like magic.
