Y’all are def on to something. The left’s strategy has always been to exploit emotions; COVID, climate, white supremacy, and now cyber attacks.
Btw, exploiting emotions, especially fear, is immoral. In fact, I would classify it as real evil.
The people that fought for this the most very little education, very few experiences in life, and or emotional wrecks, like NYPat and Wincel. They pretend to be the opposite of all of this and make **** up on the internet because everyone in their real lives know they are phonies

One party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.
Hayek and Mises were right; they're all socialists.

It's done with the right wing in the form of baby eating commie/Satanist politicians, when they used to think America was mostly noble and united. That's why we have Q and extreme mental instability in the fringe conspiracy community in their attempts to reconcile this new "reality".
The left also allows the slippery slope of authoritarianism to come true because they are told all conspiracies are crazy people rants and that the state has their best interests in heart, as they get more and more trapped in corporatism and all the other "evils" they constantly rally against but end up supporting instead. They can't reconcile that they've been constantly duped or else their smug pride will instantly crumble.
The environment is ripe for a "new reality" that people can call home again
