10k days from tool they had 3D goggle built into the album packaging cover that you could look through Alex Grays art in a whole new way. Super trippy and a cool unique idea.

This is the craziest.

This is Dead from Mayhem. He spent most his life believing that he actually was dead but still alive.

He carried a dead crow to sniff to keep the smell of death in his nose. He would bury his clothes in a cemetery then one day he decided to kill himself he left a note that said "sorry about all the blood".

His bandmate found his body and snapped a picture instead of calling the cops, they used that picture for their album cover.

Iron Maiden has some badass artwork. But looking at the album as a package, does the cover have any relevence to the music itself?

I have the same question about alot of these metal albums, they all seem like cookie cutter morbid scenes, placed just for shock value alone.

I really like the style of them, and the fact they are always drawn the same (by the same artist?) make their work easy to recognize. I have the Aces High single with the live version of mark of the beast on the B side, always liked this cover
