You owe an apology to Dr. Fauci, not to me. It's defamation like yours that radicalizes the public. No dude, you literally struggled with the science and had no idea they were making new viruses even though I kept posting it a million times. You had no idea what they were doing.
I missed a detail in the intro, well because it's the intro and I skimmed it, but at no time did I not understand what was going on. You clearly struggled with the science on several occasions.
In fact, if the original 8 strains did not infect humans like we had originally assumed, what they would have done in that experiment would have been GOF, which you argued against until the end saying it still did not meet the criteria of increased transmissibility, which it clearly did, as evidenced in Baric's 2015 GOF experiment.
So let's recap:
1) You had no idea they were creating new viruses
2) You had no idea what exactly GOF entails, failing to understand what increased transmissibility really means.

I contend that even if they didn't infect humans, it wouldn't have met the criteria of GOF or at least GOF of concern by the definitions we saw.
We were using two different definitions of transmissibility. I was talking about transmissibility between individuals of the same species. You were talking about it more broadly, in the context of host tropism.

-Didn't understand they were creating new viruses.
-Didn't understand what increased transmissibility means, hence no idea what GOF is.
Walking you through that paper was like dealing with someone who was scientifically illiterate.I'm not kidding. I felt bad for you and your inability to grasp things I posted repeatedly and kept telling you what they mean.
^^Wincel still does not understand the science, which he never did. If the original strains were incapable of infecting humans, and they created new chimeras that could do so, they would have increased the transmissibility, thus it would have been GOF research. Want proof?
No we weren't, you were just dead wrong. See above. Thanks for playing.

How could you read that paper and not realize they were creating new viruses?
How could you not realize taking a virus that could not infect humans and creating a new chimera that could do so is the very definition of increasing transmissibility and GOF research?
Face it boy, you got REKT.

BACs cannot infect people. They'd need to be transfected into the cells. The isolated viruses they got after transfection and replication could, theoretically. Actually, they didn't even establish that they can infect people. What they established was that the isolated viruses can infect human cells exhibiting ACE2. We do not know if the hybrid viruses they created could survive externally and bind. There is a difference between in situ infectiveness of a human cell culture and in vivo infectiveness of a human organism.

There is no rigorous definition of gain of function research. There is one for gain of function research of concern. The work done at WIV was not gain of function research of concern.
Anyway, let's recap. The original thread was an accusation that Fauci had lied under oath to congress. You said he did. I said he didn't. I was right, and you even admitted so.

You still have Dr Ebright at Rutgers that still insists creating completely new PPPs is the epitome of GOF research, but I disagree, according to their definitions. Dangerous af, but maybe not GOF research.
It's always a political game dude.
Yeah, I think Fauci is in the clear. Even if he wasn't, he would still be in the clear.

3) There are fewer hops for a WalMart store supply chain than a conventional smaller market, which usually purchases from several distributors.
4) Closing WalMart would lead to a huge food security issue for much of the United States.

You need to specify which definition you are using for GoF and transmissibility. Not specifying the definition and then mocking someone for being unclear what you are talking about is pretty laughable. The entire argument rested on semantically parsing the definitions of these terms, so I specifically asked you multiple times to provide the definition you were using. You don't seem to understand how rigorous arguments work, and I don't fault you because you're an engineer who has never had to mathematically prove anything in his life.

They got big ass roof tops that just turn air over spewing who knows what into the air lmao
You could literally fart in the produce section then smell that exact same fart over in the automotive section 5 min later

If you really thought that, you wouldn't be so hell bent on trying to gotcha me or follow me around like a puppydog. You'd just ignore what I said. A lot of people make dumb comments on here, and most just ignore it and move on. You guys follow me because you have a vested interest in what I have said. You know I'm right, and you have to try to smear or discredit it in some way to save face for your own political agendas. It's pretty obvious who is in control when I get threads made about me daily, death threats daily, and people generally constantly insulting me and trying to force me off the board. It must mean I'm doing something right.
