LOL at the poverty mass produced IPAs in this thread. Real IPA hipsters only drink local breweries you've never heard of before. One thing I'll miss about leaving California is all the small breweries here.

I come from the scotch world but you guys should take note. Even master distillers don’t say their whisky is the best. They strive for the best version of their whisky and understand taste depends on the individual, situation/mood/setting etc.
For beer I like wheated/Pilsner/lager on hot summer days
A nitro stout/porter in winter (odyssey nitro porter is great) especially with stew, pot pie, meatloaf etc
Don’t really enjoy ipa unless I’ve cold and a really hot day (at that point I’ll drink anything)
Cask ales are great for a dank basement pub.
I dunno, just me maybe.
I’ll rep this but you have to have it on tap to appreciate

I don't drink much anymore but at one stretch of time I tried a bunch of different, very highly rated IPAs and thought they all tasted like chit.

Kawk is one of my favourite Belgian beer, tastes sweet and is quite yeasty with fruity afternotes. It's not overpoweringly sweet like many high % stouts are so I prefer it.

anytime you go and want to try something new but it is expensive go to beeradvocate.com and just read the reviews. they have a forum almost like this one but is for serious conversation. they dont tolerate all the name calling and childish BS. But if you are going to spend $20.00 on a 4 pack, id suggest reading the reviews.
You arent going to find a world class beer at a gas station. I can tell you that right now.

your best beers will be found there. traditionally anyways. America has really stepped it up when it comes to making good brews. of course we always have been the KING country for bourbon.
