I drink like once a week now, with some homies I ride bikes with. Go out, get some cardio in cycling around, stop at a bar or two. It’s a nice time and don’t get chit faced.
I’ve always had a high tolerance, prided myself on it for a long time. Pretty much became my personality. Very depressing in hindsight. Lost so many gains from late teen to early 20s that I worked really hard for. Fell pretty hard into drugs for a couple years. Basically gave up on life, totaled a car chitfaced one night. Honestly looking back idk if it was because I wanted to die or not. I just didn’t care. Should have been the last straw but it wasn’t. Ended up in the hospital with staples holding my head together so my skull wasn’t visible after a drunken fight last year.
I still have had slips but I’m pretty dedicated to the gym again. Not drinking makes work much tolerable. I sleep better, eat better. Sure, in social situations without booze I’m a total retard but whatever. I’m already engaged and don’t really care to meet many new people

If there's one thing I hate in this life, it's losing. If there's two things I hate, it's losing and getting cancer.

For me to go T-total - the biggest reason would be, by drinking - I'm literally not adding anything positive to my life. Even if its 1 bottle of beer on a Friday night. You can get good tasting no-alcohol beers if i really wanted to - so literally what is the point. It only adds negatives.

It does affect blood pressure and other markers negatively though.
I agree though, best to cut it out altogether. I do like having beer, cider or wine with food, but even 1 beer destroys my sleep, so I quit months ago.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.
