Do security / health or cleaning job, they usually pay better than walmart type jobs, cleaning, usually you will talk to no one.

I did security but night shifts for the same reason and because I hate dealing with people..
even on night shifts you will deal with people and get used to it and stop caring with your anxiety.
Either way.. you will have to get over your anxiety eventually.. it will hold you back in all aspects of life.
Its part of why I was such a late bloomer dating wise too and hate myself for not getting over it sooner. Missed out on all the young sloots with glow

but dont take any drugs for anxiety..
its a naturally occuring thing in your mind that you can easily get over by changing your thinking and behavior patterns

The way I see it, it preaches that you're just supposed to restrain yourself, you just do life hacks to avoid suffering, then you die.

Procrastinating doesn’t help anything but being content with reality is a sure way of never changing anything either.

But thank you, I’ll check that stuff out.
You were complaining about the external world, saying it caused your depression and anxiety. Stoicism is about accepting the world as it is and just being grateful for the little things. You're bothered by things beyond your control. It's beyond your control, so being bothered by it is senseless. You can label it however you like as a slave morality or whatever, but I don't think you really even have a firm understanding of stoicism. You're also labelling what I'm saying as strictly stoicism, when it's not.

I wouldn't even bother trying to label ways of thinking, there's too many connections/similarities between many of them. Which reminds me of another book, Perennial Philosophy. A lot of underlying themes are similar throughout different philosophies and religions across different areas and times. That book talks about that. That was definitely an influential book for me regarding philosophy

I don’t think it’s a slave philosophy, but I’ve read some critics of it labeling it as such. I think there are some aspects of Stoicism that can be applied successfully for most people, I believe the same thing could be said for Cynicism actually. What you said seemed Stoic heavy, but I wouldn’t say purely so, but yes labeling Philosophy can be tricky as they blur lines often times. I will admit there are surely parts of that philosophy that I could add into my toolbox that I either haven’t wanted to or haven’t been able to do yet.

Yeah, labelling things isn't a good idea. I can literally point out the sources I had in mind when I was giving advice and you'll see they're not directly related to Stoicism in any way (hint: I've already mentioned two of them to you). I had others in mind as well.

You could also have just as easily found some of those lines of thought in the Bible.

Also the leftist authoritarianism running rampant, especially during this pandemic which is severely limiting liberty and privacy. Really everything the Left is doing right now I pretty much hate. I wish I could enter a time a machine and live my prime years in better times.

I won’t take the medication because I don’t feel like I have any mental illness that needs it. I feel like my problems could be solved on my own, I’m not mentally ill I just deal with anxiety and depression which is fairly normal. I know I can fix it myself.
You’ve got multiple issues working against you, luckily you’re 24, so you can recover before it completely spirals out and is over.

You are way too paranoid and concerned about things you can’t control, and you’re in there deep. You gotta learn to let go. I can write a separate post about this addressing your issues that are causing your depression, but basically you got to learn to live within the system.

Also find your commentary ironic that you want mass deportation of minorities and full right wing take over, yet UBI and no wage slaving. Mass deportation is not gonna solve your problems. Right wingers are bigger believers in “wage slaving”, no UBI. Essentially being independent. Isn’t that the biggest issues with minorities and immigration? Dependency on the system?

While clearing your head, I would also look into acquiring some skills as you don’t have a college degree. Or go back to college to get a STEM degree. You’ve got some time to figure it out, you’re still young. It’s pretty much over once you’re 30.

Take the meds brah seriously, you're wasting TIME, nothing will BRING back TIME. You'll look back at yourself in ten years and wish you took the meds and actually did something productive and faced the world.
Set yourself an ultimatum. If you can't face this chit on your own then use whatever you can to move on with life, please don't waste the one life you're given.

Mind = blown that people really take politics and whats going on in the world seriously. Dude if the stuff is not good for your mental health then don’t look or listen to it. You’re pretty much in a spiral that since you have nothing to do you look at stuff that gives you a negative response, that negstive response is creating a scenario where you don’t feel good in doing things.

I would say rip that bandaid off on the social anxiety…exposure is the best therapy.

The best advice I can give you is to focus on what you want to get out of an interaction or event, and calibrate your words and actions to achieve that end. Do not place your focus on things that you cannot immediately control, and do not focus your actions on your feelings at that moment. Envision a goal, and make it your priority. Understand the actions required to reach that goal, and consciously suppress urges that hinder you from it. Compartmentalization is a priceless skill.

Also-if it’s unmanageable, seriously consider the meds.

I’m seriously considering trying to get on disability but that’s not even enough money.

I’ve never had a real job, previously I was doing yard work and delivering menus for pizzerias, and it’s been years since I did that. I managed to save up a few grand that I have slowly been chipping away at, but I’m down to my last few hundred dollars.

I was given a job as a security guard, I went through the job interview and everything. However I had to go to security training which was two 8.5 hour classes which required you to wear a mask the entire time. It also cost something like 80$ to do, and I also had to get finger printed which cost like 45$. So I just bailed on the entire thing, mainly because I can’t wear a mask that long.

I just need to figure something out, I am practically in the same boat I was in when I was 17 years old. Nothing has changed for me.
I remember when the misc was cool.

******** and energy drinks are literal cheat codes to life

Not being biased but a well paying trade in one of the trade unions is also great for add , it’s a lot more stimulating to do and you don’t have to worry about PC office environment ( you probably give off creeper vibes and office women will tell HR you creeped on them and to fire you) if your social anxiety is bad enough.

Get a job and keep at it for and you will find it easier day by day. Just expose yourself to it. Had social anxiety to work at 22-23 and then i on purpose got a sales job which forced me to cold call all day long. It sucked major ballsack but made me overcome my issues.
