Doctors really only know basic nutrition that anyone with an average IQ could pick up in a day or two on the internet.

And there's no money in diet research so we really don't know **** in general as humans.

Most of the fruit you can get in supermarkets is garbage tier gmo crap with no taste or fiber or nutrients. Basically a mutant abominations.

The doctor who said thar is retarded, however a diabetic eating two bananas in one sitting and one mutant gmo peach would be doing more harm than good to himself, so maybe his advice was moss guided.

Not to mention, lots of people eat their fruits with yogurt and supermarket muesli, which are both riddled with extra sugar. So a bowl with supermarket yogurt with bananas and muesli would be pretty much just sugar even tho it may look "healthy"

Now real organic seasonal fruit is another Thing, and im not talking about the cope organic bs they sell at trader Joe's I'm talking about real organic endemic seasonal fruit. The kind is pretty much impossible to get in the us unless you grow it yourself or now a local organic farmer who has brought over real seeds from abroad.

Once you try real organic fruits and veggies there's no going back. Srs.

I stopped going to the doctors years ago, for the most part. I remember my childhood doctor, who I left behind in my teenage years, told me to stop lifting weights.

The doctors are actually right, BUT not because of fructose. But because most people are out of shape and have terrible insulin as result, 70% of people are prediabetic, and they just get hungry and sleepy when they eat carbs, most people should be eating dead animals and green leafs twice a day (no snacking), and exercising, until they see their abs. And then they will have earned the right to eat one banana.

True. Even just compared to a few hundred years ago we've manipulated fruit to the point of being pure fructose. Truth is you shouldn't eat fruit every day. We never had the ability until recently.

The good ol' " it will stunt your height" BS. Most doctors are still telling people to eat a low fat diet, to eat 5 meals and snacks a day, and that fasting is dangerous. Supplements are baaaad, prescriptions gooood GTFOH.

Eat lots of grains and fruit, then come back for your necessary Metformin and statins!!!!

They don't realize they are useful idiots that keep much of the population sick and pharma dependent.

why would you? fruit is overrated from a nutritional standpoint and full of sugar. I eat it about as often as I eat any sweet/cheat thing. Even then it's usually only berries or grapes.

Eat your fruit in it's whole form incuding the skin. Fiber, water, potassium, phytochemicals (such as pigments that act like antioxidants), and vitamins are all good for you.

If you are concerned about the glycemic load havd it with some protein and fat, such as a handful of trailmix.

Fruit should be part of a balanced diet. I have no idea why everyone is analyzing it on its own.

Fruits are a double edged sword

They are full of vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, fiber etc...

Lots of properties to help prevent cancer and other diseases

But yes they're full of sugar. Espciallly fructose. (Which causes cancer, diabetes etc...)

Fructose is a very dangerous fast acting sugar.

Fruit is not pure fructose of course, it’s split with other forms of sugar depending on the fruit.

Also, our avocados are no better as far as us making them very different from what they used to be.

Lastly, “we” in your post depends on who specifically you are talking about. Are you talking about people from say Africa or Dominican Republic who have fruit and other carbs year round, OR are you talking about Europeans who don’t even have the enzyme to digest potatoes and thus go around farting and being bloated all day if they eat potato? “We” really depends on who you are referring to. I know people from Central America who eat carbs all day, just as their predecessors did for a very long time, fruit and starch, and they are lean as fuak. While I look 9 months pregnant from a single potato, and get hungry and sleepy.. When I go on a standard 200-300g carbs per day diet I look like a f*cking sumo wrestler… But my ex ate nothing but carbs, and was lean as all fuak.

giant genetically modified sugar bombs that don't rot for weeks...yeah super fkn healthy

fruit in nature is small and bitter, and only available seasonally in most climates

the idea that we should be eating a lot of fruit is beyond retarded, especially when you realize the fact that our digestive systems are more similar to obligate carnivores' than any other animals'

fruit has nutrients, the majority of which are biologically unavailable to us, and it has a ton of sugar

Fruit doesn't rot right away because it is alive. They are still taking in oxygen and producing CO2, whether they are sitting on your counter or in your fridge.

If you break the skin they will expire pretty quickly.

Bioavailability varies depending on the fruit, and you should be getting your nutrients from a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

You don't have to eat fruit to have an overall healthy diet, but they can be part of a healthy diet.

Doctors in general know jackchit about nutrition. Look at diabetes, for decades they only prescribed INSULIN, as if that was some magical cure. Meanwhile, they told diabetics to eat carbs every 4 hours for whatever dumbass fuked up reasoning they had about metabolism or some chit.

On fructose/fruit... most people should have no problems with fruit in moderation, sure. Some people? Probably want to lay off it. Fructose in general is bad for your liver. Glucose? Every cell in your body can utilize that for energy. Fructose? No, must be metabolized in the liver.

In general, whatever. Almost everyone's liver can handle an apple, plus fruit is full of nutrients, often fiber and such, slows the digestion process down, gives even more time to deal with the small amounts of fructose you get.

The real problem stems from HFCS, where you're getting double/triple/quadruple the fructose, none of the fiber, none of the nutrients and it's snuck in pretty much most highly processed junk foods out there that people eat entirely way too often and too much of. Someone like that can get a fatty liver very quick. Someone like that can get non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver over time.

So, while for most people some fruit is fine -- for someone with a heavy damaged liver from the SAD, meh... might want to lay off the fruit. Also might want to fast for a day or a week, cut out all the processed crap, eat naturally and heal yourself. Fruit is probably the least of that person's problem, so if a doctor is screaming about not eating fruit and not first saying anything else? Stupid, sure.

Fruit in moderation is fine, though. Not super bio-available nutrients, unlike organ meats, but whatever. I wouldn't eat a dozen bananas a day, but an apple a day in conjunction with an otherwise solid diet? Who cares.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Fuking this. I can't believe how stupid some miscers are. I know nutrition is very nuanced but a lot of these potatoes sound like my grandma straight from the mother land with all the bro science ITT.

the most fruit humans were ever suppose to eat were a few berries off wild plants. Fruit was tiny before they altered that chit to make them massive. Fkn lol if you're smashing massive berry shakes everyday

Doesn't your body process the fructose from fruit much better and slower, than from other source such as candy, bread, etc?

I am pretty sure this is true and the reason why endurance athletes rely on it during events

a piece of fruit should not look the same 3 weeks later as the day I brought it home and forgot about it

that aside, modern fruit is giant fake sugar bombs.

are you saying eating a lot of sugar is healthy? no? so then you cannot also say that eating a lot of fruit is healthy.

eat some beef liver, all the nutrients you need, and your body can access them all.

Ewww at beef liver. There's nothing wrong with eating fruit in moderation, and I find that I can't overeat fruit unless it's dried fruit.. Americans don't eat enough fruits and veggies. That's why there's the marketing campaign for 5 a day. You should actually eat moar than that.

I don't think the problem with Americans is fruit. It's the sweet and salty foods. I can easily binge on sweets and salty snacks and that's why I don't buy them, but my family members buy them unfortunately so it makes will power really tough. I have never binged on fruit lol.

I don't mind fruit but I don't eat if often. I find other carb sources that keep me feeling full for longer periods of time.
