I would like to see this done on a small scale first since big bad Government would shut down anything you attempt to do on a larger scale since it would affect their pockets.

I would love this just in the residential areas. Instead we got savages doing like 50 mph down a residential street. Kids can't even play safely outside.

I actually enjoyed riding on the LA metro system

Driving is cool but just sitting down and looking outside while listening to music is cool too


Only Downside is the homeless asking for money and ****

Lack of cleanliness etc

I thought the LA metro system was quite good even tho the coverage was somewhat limited. Felt clean and safe compared to the overall filthiness of the streets. The multi leveled stations were a bit complicated to navigate tho.

All that is great in theory but its just not possible in some places. We have public transportation in the city where I work and the only people who use are the homeless and mentally ill. I can't imagine how desperate I'd have to be to get on it. No matter how much money was put into it no one with a job will ever use it because its gross and dangerous. I will say that the buses in Ireland were pretty legit. If I lived their I wouldn't mind using them

I live in Houston and hate driving. Like 90% of the city has been designed exclusively for cars. I’d rather live in a city where everyone walks or bike rides or takes very practical public transport that is clean for the environment like electric rails or whatever. It’s dumb having to commute 30-40 min to your job while spending literal thousands of dollars every year on gas.

It’s a shame how 100 years ago most US cities were tight little centers where you could walk anywhere and everything was close by. Now those towns have been replaced by highways and it’s really a destruction of culture and architecture to fit more people into these spaces. Overpopulation to blame.

I’m for banning gas powered vehicles for the common person (like you need a special construction or truck driving or military license to operate a gas powered vehicle) If the government pushes electric vehicles and partners with Tesla to make them affordable for everyone. Obviously that would never happen in the USA, but I could see it in Tokyo/Japan or someplace like that.

congrats - ya know in commifornia it was huge to go solar, tons of people started doing it, and their electricity bill was $0 or even the power company owed them money. You know what our truly trustworthy and amazing government and utility companies did? Another issue I have - traveling is way, waay too easy to do nowadays. Traveling is now how insta-hoes measure their dicks against eachother.

Traveling used to mean risking your life, understanding navigation, hunting, fighting malaria, and subjecting the local populations to unthinkable horrors.

Nowadays, some sloot has her sugar-daddy subsidize her trip to *****, and all it costs her is a degrading turd on her chest every once in a while.

That's purely a cutlural issue tho. If more people used public transport and more resources would be allocated into policing and mantaining said public transports those problems would become more negligible. The biggest problem would be covering american cities, since they automobile dictated their growth most american cities are huge sprawls of endless suburbs and low density, thus you would need a huge network to cover all the areas.



Just imagine having to give coverage to the endless suburban sprawls, fuark. Changing that would need to go along with a massive scale urban redevelopment in most cities.

The auto industry truly and utterly CUCKED american cities through the 20th century. Every single city grew and transformed to make more room for cars instead of thinking of the actual need of people.
