Have been in the swinger community for a while as a single guy, and I can say that 95% of the time the women are hotter than the men and they know it. Very rare to have an unattractive woman with a hotter man. Either they are both about the same or the wife is a couple of notches up. Sometimes the guys are even about a 5 and their wife is a rocket 8.

I am not one to judge how others like to get down in the bedroom. If folks like to let their freak flags fly, then by all means you do you.

I will say however, that there are MANY more folks into the "lifestyle" (swingers, poly, open relationships, etc) than lots of folks realize.

Have had several friends who were, the majority happily still together. The open communication skills in their relationships is impressive.

Have also had friend couples who were cheating on eachother previously, and then transitioned to open relationships. Can honestly say their relationships seemed to get better, but wouldnt say it brought them to a totally healthy relationship status either.

Yea I think it happens fairly frequently

But my understanding was it always evokes jealousy in one or the other and made the relationship rocky

It's kinda the same thing with a 3some - which sounds good in theory but usually leads to one person being more left out as keeping attention on 2 is tough

Maybe it's better for people who've been real long term (older people) and are bored and other options are minimal, or maybe the opposite, idk. Maybe having been in a relationship so long evokes more jealousy
