I know, i agree. I've skated for 20 years and it takes an insane amount of practice to get really good. Makes me wonder how these guys do it while smoking weed and drinking all the time.

You're not wrong even if that's a very rough sum up. Had a career working with them (over a decade) and though many are still struggling financially, training with pro coaches for the Games is their full-time job and many expenses are subsidized.

And you don't expect bikers, swimmers, track athletes, and gymnasts to not be on some sort of PED? Would bet my dik that the majority are on something. At least in the off season. They all find ways around the testing. Wasn't long ago that they retested old blood samples from long ago with new drug testing technology and all of Russia popped, plus lots of other athletes from all over the world. I think they should just allow ped use at this point. Its kinda a joke at the Olympic level. It's all about who has the best chemists making research compounds that aren't yet detectible. And routes of administration that don't leave as many metabolites. They were using sub lingually so it just goes strait into the blood stream to bypass the liver

boxing they been having a problem with fuked up decisions for a long time, idk if its related to that or not but they were talking about pulling it from the olympics before due to corruption.

this, but the communist countries been sending 25-30 year olds for a long time. some been to multiple olympics, basically professional state sponsored boxers.

They tried to remove Wrestling a few years ago too. It's ridiculous IMO. They should replace boxing with an MMA tournament though you could invite 8 fighters per division and have exhibition matches like the Ultimate Fighter until the medal rounds

its like competing in natural powerlifting meets but with half the people being on gear.

First of all natural weightlifting is boring AF, no one cares about it, its only impressive to watch when someone has the strength they would have on gear.
second its not fair and its bullchit for people on gear to compete in a natural sport.

So I really don't care about that part and never watched much of it. I like watching the form the guys use and watching the obviously on gear guys lift.

In it’s current form where it’s non-pro and almost none of them are the best at their sport (apart from Cubans) it does make sense to remove it.

We will hopefully get to see some amazing cuban pro fighters because of this.

The best of the best are not competing in the olympics in boxing, unlike, to my knowledge, any other sport
I mean in terms of top guys, many were olympians. Loma, usyk, Joshua (fury tried but no country to represent), GGG, Lewis, de la Hoya, foreman , Ali, Roy jones jr, mayweather, etc. I know I’ve missed many. Maybe not all of the best compete but many do.

Is wrestling still being removed too?
