No, the charade is kept going because there is a large swath of the population that truly believes there is a deadly cold and it keeps mutating because not enough people will get the injections. And if they keep getting shots they will keep getting it (because of the unvaxxed) but they will escape death or hospitalization, as long as they keep getting the shots.

If every single person kept getting shots, too, it would disappear. That's what they believe.

That policy is ridiculous. But the vaccines do reduce chance of infection and reduce transmission. Unfortunately, those protections decline faster than people hoped.

Perhaps in the broader context, but as discussed earlier in the thread hospitals have been requiring vaccination for a long time.

It's not the same as companies who are requiring vaccination for people who work from home, which is just silly.
