I saw something on breaking points about a lack of cattle ranchers is starting to cause issues in that industry. Much like lack of people working in nearly every blue collar job.

I have both Albertsons and Smith's (Kroger). Albertsons is stupid expensive compared to Kroger. I've been shopping at Kroger, and sniped marked down 85/15 beef for $2.60 a pound, absolutely srs. However I went to a local butcher that had 90/10 on special for $3lb, and I picked up a 1lb ribeye for 30% off ($14).

Just try to keep an eye out for marked down stuff if you go to Kroger. Otherwise I'm going to shop at this local place for meat.

Conspiracy time, but I think chains are trying to cash in on the lack of supply and inflation, and are going wild on markups. Meanwhile local mom and pops are still being consistent. Plus they're probably sourcing local too. TLDR fuk chain grocery stores.

I remember reading some time ago that higher oil + gas prices > higher fertilizer prices > higher grain + feed prices. So it might be partially due to increased costs for producers.
