I accepted this a long time ago. I haven't gotten it yet, but will probably get it one day. Mind you, I rarely ever get sick, so there's that. I had a mild bout of the flu 2 years ago I got from my wife and the last time I had the flu was 20 years prior.

We're all gonna make it.

So now I feel kinda like, well I’m going to get it, might as well get it over and done with even if I get really ill. (Being prone to pneumonia and on chemo/cancer meds)

Like I’ve stopped going out, besides my office where I zoom meetings /court 90% of the time. But, like what’s next I get it from a gas pump? The gym I go to when it’s empty at odd hours to avoid people? The pharmacy where I pick up my meds? The doctors office? My mail?
Hide out a bit longer and you might miss the wave. Omicron will pass in a month or 2 and will likely be the last one.

it's kinda weird how the virus behaves

like me for example I've been exposed to a lot of infected people, still went out, still went in crowded places, am unvaxxed etc. but have not tested positive even once. now i know these tests aren't really reliable but still. Maybe i already caught it early on and I now have immunity of the gods that prevents me from getting infected, even against the newer variants. But i'll never know because I haven't been sick for the past few years (not even a cough). and I can't just walk in to a pharmacy and ask for an antibody test either.

There will always be a new flu variant or corona variant or whatever going around, just the way it's been every year you have been alive.

Omicron is already far less dangerous than most of them, unvaccinated or not.

I think they are just being illogical and irrational. alot of cities, especially liberal run cities have very high crime rates. maybe they live on the outskirts of it in their parent's house in an upscale neighbourhood so they are sheltered from it. but basic things like driving a car and commuting 10-20 miles to work, crossing the sidewalk in a city over a long period of time carry not so insignificant risks. but we accept them. it's just people are so brainwashed by media that they don't have any clue when it comes to risk analysis. for one, 48% of democrats think hospitalization rate for those who get covid is 50% according to a survey, but there are alot of people who think like that as well. we take risks in our daily lives that we don't even consider to be risks. and just accept it.

That has been my thinking. We will need to get used to living with COVID. Wish the vaccines worked better. Hope the COVID pill works well. The antibody treatment is something I'd try if I developed COVID again.

Doesn't work, still heavily encouraged... And people literally get a booster 1 week after having covid.

No, I don’t care that the vaccines don’t work

No, I don’t care that the vaccines made me sicker than the virus did

No, I don’t care that masks don’t work

But you know what? I listen to authority and am going in for the 10th booster because it’s my civic duty! And I’m double masking it up in this bich! Who else is with me?

The virus is much less infectious 5 minutes after exhailed. It is possible if you pick your nose and rub your eyes a lot, but by far the biggest risk is breathing indoors with other people, or outdoors with someone face to face. Your mail is not a risk unless the worker deliberately coughed into your mail box in an attempt to get you, and you got the mail soon after and started rubbing your eye while still holding the mail in your other hand.

An N95 at the gym would help, though expensive to replace. Hard to know how long it was empty before you got there unless you arrive when it opens.

My kids' high school sends us notices every time one of them has been exposed in school to someone who tested positive. My son has gotten 20 notices since September and my daughter 12. One of my son's friends stayed at our house last Saturday and tested positive on Monday. Despite all of that, none of us (including me and my wife) have actually gotten sick with any symptoms at all, but I can't imagine that we haven't been infected through all of that. I know dozens if not hundreds of people who have gotten omicron. All of them basically had cold symptoms. This is mutating into something no one needs to worry about any more.

Yes but these people think the high crime rate is just the man keeping the less privileged down, also yes they are sheltered from it because crime is concentrated in a few bad spots in any given city for the most part.

Also they think law and rules protect them, so things like walking across the street or driving don't register as risks because mr. government makes rules and laws. Same thing you see here with covid, they are so not used to risk and risk management that they think mr. government making rules will protect them from a mild cold virus.

I couldn’t give a flying **** less about other peoples vaccination status but strangely here on the misc thats mostly Republicans, some of you absolutely seethe at the fact that me and my grown children decided to get vaccinated. One guy even hoped I would die in a previous thread. Weird how that works

We all had our own reasons and for us it worked out because of our exposure level last year. Everybody around me was sick I never caught it so I was still able to work and not miss a beat. It was worth it for me.

Edit* Exposure level. She lived with me during that time and for weeks after while she was on O2.

It was funny no one on her side of the family is vaccinated because they don’t believe in it but the moment she caught Covid and was unable to care for herself nobody would help her because they aren’t vaccinated so guess who was called…Moi. Weird how that worked

I still feel like my vaccine was a success even though I had a terrible side effect it got me through the worst of it without missing a beat even with “covid arm”

Same for me, except I have had to cancel seeing family and had to cancel a couple trips due to surprise vaccine requirements

This country that was once free, is no longer, all because of people pushing some stupid ass booster shot that lasts 3 months for only 1 variant at a time.

And like I said what is the point when there are no healthy young people dying?

No I'm sure you can completely get rid of the flu if you just keep locking people in their houses. Lol at the concept.
