ok so what happens at 9 years and 1 day, do i wake up to nothingness, floating in space? is my house on fire from global warming? are we swimming in lava because the earth when from normal temperature to molten liquid in 9 out of 4.5 billion years?

9 years out of 4.5 billion is 0.0000002% of the earth's total age. what catastrophic change is going to happen in such a quick time? Scientists cant even predict the weather next tuesday but you are telling me they can narrow down a critical inflection point towards certain doom within a 0.0000002% window of the earth's life? do you realize how fuking stupid that sounds

I like him as an actor, but unfortunately whenever these Hollywood elites open their mouths regarding anything political they come across as hypocritical douchebags. It sadly ruins the image I had for them.

They just need to stick to acting and shut the fuk up, like Ricky Gervais said. There are a few cool ones that aren't like that as far as I'm aware, like Brad Pitt and Christian Bale for example.

Tom Cruise seems cool too, besides being a scientologist. But at least I don't hear him talking about it

Just for a moment, imagine what people that absolutely believe this will be willing to do.

We will look back on COVID-19 as the sane years soon enough.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

- bring back a day of closure for service/retail [restaurants closed on Monday?]

- improve traffic flow [syncing up lights, road design, etc.]

- reduce/consolidate deliveries [do we need mail 6 days a week?]

- move more long distance freight by train or river barge

- stop flying empty jets just because [just heard about this; they do it to keep their landing slot]

IOW reduce total miles driven/flown.

None of that stuff is sexy or makes consumers by new electric vehicles and get new charging stations installed. Which increases the demand on an already strained electrical grid.

Any Green elites saying we should stop manufacturing and growing stuff in poorer countries and shipping it around the planet? To cut down on emissions? Maybe go back to eating local food that is in season?

Probably not as it would also cut down on their profits because if they are hit with a big transport carbon tax they can only pass so much of that on to consumers. Strangely most of the "solutions" being pushed to "save the planet" seem to make a lot of money for big corporations.

If it is a big "9 years left" emergency then why aren't new modern nuclear power plants being built to provide power when "green" energy isn't enough?

If it is an emergency why haven't we banned burning wood for heat in urbanized areas? Why aren't we providing poor countries with lots of cheap solar powered ovens?

A real wood fire in your fireplace is nice, but if you choice is giving up a gas/diesel vehicle or giving up a wood fire for some other sort of fire in your home is it that hard a choice?

How much profit is there in stopping the commercial sale of cut firewood in a city vs. requiring everyone to buy and drive an electric car?
WFH would be HUGE cut to the carbon emissions for those that can. I have two cars and WFH and barely put any miles on either of them. It would also improve the QOL for the people that are having to travel because they would not be stuck in traffic. Instead these greedy fuks are pushing for return to offices so their building assets don't lose all their value.

My biggest gripe with the whole climate change is that they are focusing on us the countries s that are in 10-20-30th-100th place when it comes to emissions and not actually focusing on 1-2 India and China. If the climate change is really as bad as they put it wouldnt these people try really hard to work with China and India and if they refuse start putting sanctions or even go to war w them.

It makes no sense that say Sweden and USA is doing their part when China and India out there not giving a single ****. Its like trying to save a sinking ship by fixing small little leaks while avoiding huge titanic sized whole letting in water...just not gonn work.

Same thing with Lebron pushing for police reform and the like, they don't actually know chit beyond a high school, maybe undergrad, understanding of the issue. But they would never debate a normal person who actually knows what they're talking about because they know they don't know chit and are just virtue signaling.
That actually makes alot of sense repped. Its a new perspective i never heard or thought of before. It would explain why so many of these actors especially ones that started out early start preaching these dumb lib policies.

If there is a revolution, the elites should expect no mercy.
