I think a lot of what you said may well be true. However, the consumers pre 2011 WANTED to have fun, they were naturally like that. These days it's very rare to find a happy, fun person without having some weird flaw. Majority of people try to kill the fun with all these terms you're using. I can't remember the last time an adult hopped on a climbing frame, did a backflip off a bench, played with the stuff in the stores, played on the carnival rides all day, did donuts on a football field, yelled out of line, got mud on their clothes etc.

People now are trying to act adulty, sounds silly to say, but most people are really existing just to exist, no fun going on. Very scripted behaviour.
