Thanks for being real.

A lot of goofballs on this forum romanticize about Russians being some sort of a hardened anti-globohomo warriors. Wrong. Everything in Russia is influenced by the West and the First World. Economy, culture, lifestyle, everything. Iphones sell like hotcakes, McDonald's is the most popular restaurant, and Marvel movies rule the box office. Russia spent billions of dollars on promoting their sport clubs on international stage, but now all their athletes are banned and shunned from the rest of the world. The quality of life is in the gutter.

Ironically, majority of the anti-globohomo resisters are the same peple who say that they would never live in a place like Louisiana because there's nothing to fuking do over there. "I need muh good jerbs, muh bitches, muh sports, muh night clubs, muh concerts, muh entertainment", but here they are thinking that Russians enjoy watching paint dry next to a sewer.

I understand why many conservatives support Putin - they hate Democrats, they hate Soros, and they think that Putin's ego-driven conquest is going to save the planet from "globohomo" takeover. It won't. Putin is a corrupt scumbag and he's not your friend. Find yourself another savior or just stick to supporting Trump and DeSantis.

I cant speak for anyone else but for me its more that every time our government comes up with a scheme to affect another country they fuk it up and end up making things worse. I mean even those that are anti russia admit theres going to be no regime change so this is already a massive fail. Putin and his oligarchs wont be harmed by this just like biden and his overlords give no fuks about inflation and shortages. Its the regular people on both sides getting fuked because none of these leaders gives a damn about who they harm in creating a situation that was easily avoidable.

But yeah historically speaking betting against our government to accomplish its goals in playing world police is a safe bet

Can't argue with that. American foreign policy is impotent as phuck when it comes to executing the goals they say they have.

The fact that they're surprised putin did this shows how clueless they are. Dubya bush tried to negotiate with russia to bring ukraine into nato and their response was basically please dont do that because then we'll have to intervene

So Russia has been warning for 20 years and then we act surprised when they do what they said they were going to do.

Yep. I personally think Putin is being irrational in his fear of nato and missiles in ukraine. These euro cucks want to replace him but they don't have the balls to actually attack militarily. But the fact remains Russia has made their position clear and the globohomos spent the next decade trying to provoke the Russians. Now they're acting like like this is completely out of nowhere as if we're all retarded, when only half of us are.

Trimmed.

I don't have a romanticized view of Putin, nor do I believe that Russians are all okay with the sanctions as it stands now.

I do believe that their country is rich in resources and a net exporter. Also that they still have strong allies in China and India.

I caught a bit of an interview today w/a supposed expert on Russia who was asked by the newscaster about sanctions and how much they are hurting Russia. FWIW the "expert" said that it will be bad for Russia "if the war drags on for a long time...2 years or more".

Ratings agency S&P Global has downgraded a slew of companies since the start of the war in Ukraine.

This week, the agency cut Russia's sovereign rating deep into junk as sanctions have slammed its economy.

The agency said there are already 30 corporates that have tumbled into junk territory as a direct result of the war.
The Motherland getting cucked hard.

US was a net exporter throughout the entire Great Depression.

Shows what a trade surplus gets you lmfao.

I'd be surprised if this war isn't resolved in the next month and all of these sanctions are part of the peace deal.

You said you live in Russia? What’s the general sentiment away from the Kremlin propagandists about this chitstorm of an invasion?

I don't really believe it's going as poorly as the west is making it out to be. I think it's going less well than expected, but not poorly.

I live in Saint Petersburg, which is the most liberal city in Russia by a long shot. Anti-war sentiment here is common. Most of the people I know outside of SPb are reporting that common sentiment is either neutral or pro-Russia.

There is a cultural moment here which is a Russian saying that basically translates to "we don't abandon our people during a war" and means that even if they disagree with the war, they will support their country.

It's Henry Kissenger's statement during Vietnam "my country, right or wrong". I think it's admirable tbh.

But if the rest of the world doesn't do business with Russia then the exchange rate doesn't matter. Be a better trolltard.

You still continue to talk as if Poots wasn't the aggressor and started this debacle. He had PLENTY of opportunity to be diplomatic with Ukraine and find avenues to promise protection if Ukraine didn't join NATO. Instead he invaded and took Crimea, backed rebels in East Ukraine, and killed thousands of innocent people.

The same people bishing about boots on the ground and WW3, are the same people bishing about the sanctions. ONE of them had to happen, and America will be better off getting off Poots tit for oil. Russia is going to have ZERO commercial airplanes flying within 6 months, they are FUKKED.

When does the sentiment turn, how many deaths will change the view of the war? I think most Country's think this way, but the US turned on Vietnam war after massive deaths started piling up. I don't see any kind of end point coming soon for the war either.

This is from back in the Bush admin

https://wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/08MOSCOW265_a.html

Essentially, Bush reached out to Russia about Ukraine joining NATO. Russia very politely explained their concerns and how they would have to respond as a result. Europe spends the next 15 years doing exactly what Russia warned would provoke a response...and here we are. You've got some kind of deranged hatred of Russia so you'll take this as me saying Putin is justified when all I'm pointing out is Europe and Zelensky fuked around and eventually Ukraine found out.
