LOL at having water a a few rounds and thinking you can board up your windows in your house in LI and be ok.

most important is a remote location to meet up with close network of friends. Most of those I have are ex-military or ones that grew up in the country in texas. That part of the plan is first priority and solidified.
I just need enough ammo and gas to get to the rendezvous point
Like I said in my last post…I currently have only one rendezvous point with family out in Kansas and if I am able to make it out there then that’s my first move. But if I can’t do that for whatever reason then I have to deal with what I have here. The fuk am I supposed to do? Try to convince other family members to buy land in the middle of nowhere and build a house that’s perfectly set up for an apocalyptic event? I mean Jesus Christ I said from the beginning that I’m not going all out doomsday prepper because I can’t at the moment. But if it’s a situation where civilization is gonna return back to normal in a reasonable amount of time, then maybe I’ll be able to do that with the items I have.

What is your plan to make it out there from NY? Thats too far on one tank of gas and you dont have any gasoline stored so that doesnt seem like a solid plan A.
Once you leave LI, the 100 gallons of water and anything you cant pack into your car is pretty useless.

I have a car that can get off road, has run flats, etc. The rendevous point is easily accessible on one full tank of gas.
Load the car, head to the point. All other items already there.

What are you supposed to do? Maybe find someone in your network that has a meeting point that you can join in on. That would what a smart person would do.
People need to learn how to prioritize and solve for plan A. And your plan A better not suck.

Well if I can’t get out to Kansas where I have family that has an ideal setup then I gotta hold it down in my current house. I could stay inside for a while with the provisions that I have and maybe go in the backyard for rain water if I don’t think my neighbors are gonna shoot my ass down. If you have a rendezvous point then that’s great but if you don’t then you gotta make due with whatever you have.

It really depends on how much notice there would be ahead of time. If I can fly or drive there in time then that would be great. If not, then I’d have to hope I have enough things to last me through however long the scenario lasts for.

And finding a rendezvous point with people sounds like a good idea on paper. But that’s contingent upon everyone trusting each other and not shooting up everyone else to take the supplies for their families who are their #1 priority over friends. If you have complete trust then it’ll work but if not….I can easily see where the selfish imperative yields a disastrous outcome.

My plan is to use up what I have then take what my neighbors have and use that. No need to prep.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Correct. Building a network of people you trust is priority A in life....not just for "prepping"
If you dont have that close circle.....then perhaps you should focus on that? Not just for prepping.....for life in general.

If it gets THAT bad to the point of no return then yea I’d like to think I’d have the courage to off myself but how do you really know you will until placed in that situation?

I’m more preparing for a short to intermediate scenario where I’d be good for however long my provisions last me.

Its not about how many months of food you have or how many generators you have. Its about self sustaining resources. 100 gallons of water, thats gone in a week. Get a well or rain water collection system. Freeze died meals in the garage, again gone in no time. Learn to garden and or hunt. Gasoline based anything is toast after a few weeks of real chit hitting the fan.

I have this rain collector barrel for water and have plenty of food. Gasoline is what I don’t have and can only store 72 gallons for now. The 8 propane tanks I have no idea how long will last me for cooking food. Better than nothing.

Exactly what I thought. Miscers keep telling me I don’t have enough when I said from the beginning I’m trying to find a happy medium.

I’ll buy more ammo because it’s easy but I think I’m doing more than most people all things considered.

I'll just take all the preppers chit if it came to it.

Edit - for real, how is a cache of supplies jot just a target in a disaster situation?

Rule of law has broken down to the point you need to be a prepper, yet you think a starving mob is going to respect your property?

A smart person will just watch the prepper buy 100 pounds of canned beans, figure out where they live and know exactly how to rob them if chit hits the fan.

Those shelters you built all have filtration and ventilation systems. They are nothing but an expensive coffin if someone is aware of its existence.

How many preppers have you guys located in the immediate area of your home/within walking distance so you can go kill them & their family and /pillage their supplies? How many guys are in your crew have the tools/equipment/skill-set to assault a house/structure. And continue to do so even under fire?

Its easy to say when the time comes you'll get what you need. But the truth is if you're out and about you're just the easy target. The idea that people that are fortified/prepared/hunkered down and are just armed and waiting are just going to get robbed is laughable.

I'm from Louisiana. Know a couple of guys that were in New Orleans during Katrina. The 'looters' got a lot of press in the news. But one thing that didn't get a lot of press was how many looters were killed while out and about.

There were a lot more then just a handful of people shooting looters. And a lot more then just a handful of people that were killed because they were out ****ing around. There were no real investigations into bodies found with bullet wounds. Only 5 guys went down for homicide/related crimes as far as I'm aware. Off-duty LEO's that were shooting looters. And were most likely out doing a little looting themselves. High profile incident committed in a manner that was just careless/sloppy.

If SHTF you're either ready for it, or you aren't. And if you don't have a team of 6-8 guys with training/experience/the proper gear. You most likely aren't going to be out assaulting homes/fortified structures and taking what they have.

Funny you should mention assaulting a house and fire in the same breath.

Considering the best way to assault a house would actually be to set it on fire and wait outside.

It's as American as apple pie and much older than apple pie.

Doesn't take some genius strategist to figure that one out.

Took me two seconds, any other brilliant strategies there?

LMFAO how mad die hard preppers get when you introduce them to the reality that all that hard work they've done prepping would be so easily undone.

BRB can't use fire for whatever reason...

Simple smoke them out or use some variation of stink bombs (bleach for example would work really well).

Common sense.
