I can relate OP. My oldest is about to graduate college. I have another who’s a marine and lives 600 miles away (moved out a year ago), and one who just graduated from HS in the spring. So for now, I still have one in house. But not for long.

Yep, last few months have been a lot of reflection. Lots of memories. But it is all part of life. She is very excited and ready. Lucky to have an awesome wife and as a family we are very close. Family is everything to us. In 18 years there is only 3 nights we have not been under the same roof (except kid sleep overs...etc). My wife and I dedicated our time to being with our kids and it shows. Even as young adults they still want us in their lives. Quite different than the way I grew up. I did not talk to my parents about anything really. Great to share in your kids lives and truly be a part of it. Even better to have a great wife to share that with!



Still trying to figure that outReal estate and home design and also some construction here and there.



No man...I came from literally nothing. Work hard, harder than most are willing. Be a person of your word. Be good to people and treat even the worst events in your life as opportunities. Life it good!



I posted pics before. She is a very pretty girl, and not just saying that because I am her father. But she has a very pretty mom so I guess that makes sense. Super smart (like tested WISK IV at 139IQ). Going to school for nursing even though she is smart enough to be Dr. She wants to put her future family first and being a Dr would be more sacrifice than she is will to take from her (future) family.



Fifty in a few months. Not feeling bad at all. I actually still train and in pretty damn good shape for really anyone. If you saw me you would not think I was 50.



Not king, but happy to never be afraid of work.



No employees since 2009. At one time I had many, but simplified life from 09 on. Live simpler now and only work by myself.



Shoot for the best family life you can have, and everything else is a bonus. "Stuff" does not make you happy. Having enough is important, but there has never been a thing that I have bought that brings me ACTUAL happiness. Not even a Lambo. It is fun, but not something to put importance on.
Lol, A nice house that i can call my kingdom and world would make me happy breh.

I think I'd rather build a house than buy. How was the process? Was it a lot more expensive than just buying? Starting off, I'll probably buy and renovate.

Like I said, having a great wife has a lot to do with it. But I feel very lucky.

Cant even imagine. My son is the last of our little. He and I have a great bond over cars and plan on spending quite a few weekends this year tearing up tracks! I have to keep things 'fair' between the kids, but I started shopping a track car for him, but I am just going to wait for now.

I have similar thoughts. What you cant see from the front is my entire home is designed around a rear courtyard at same level as home. (not easy to do on a home that is not a slab) Wont go into details on the construction. When you walk in, you see right to outside which has a large covered area with part of the pool coming under the covered are. Big outdoor kitchen, grill, pizza oven..etc.

We designed the home around our lifestyle. We also wanted a place where our kids would always want to be. It was always fun having my kids friends over etc. One of the ulterior motives of building a home with cool places to hang, is it gets used by your kids

Biggest challenge of building your own home is you pretty much have to pay cash for it. No bank will loan you the money as an owner/builder. Even with 25 years and making my living in const and having a general contractors license, a bank wont lend you money on your own project. Too many conflicts for them.

Besides that, I have built a few homes for myself and my wife and I did it together. Like we really did many of the parts of the build just her and I. Really rewarding.

Here is a little vid from christmas, and some pics of the inside. Where the painos are is what we call the gallery. Upon entering the home, you see right out to the rear and outdoor living/pool.

I'm not religious at at all. However, I was debating a miscer. We keep hearing about how women in the middle east don't have "rights. " What "rights" are people referring to?

The right to abort/murder an unborn person?
The right to use illegal drugs?
The right to do disgusting and degenerate porn such as fuk dogs, cats etc. or get anal gang banged by a group of systemically and racially oppressed astronauts , Harvard professors / alumni and doctors?

Is it just me, or do these not seem like "rights," ; rather, they seem like wrongs.

I keep hearing about the evils of sharia law,and in many cases we use it an excuse to discriminate against others based on race and ethnicity(which i'm mostly against) , but not about the problems plaguing young people in the west. If you look into the "dark side" of porn you will see young western women engage in the most disgusting and disturbing things imaginable. Also look at suicide, depression and drug use rates among western youth today.

btw. suicide rates in Saudi Arabia (5.4), Afghanistan (6) and United Arab Emirates(5.2) is lower than the USA (14.5) and the UK(6.9) and Canada (10.3). I bet that for youth its even more lop sided.

No self build mortgages in the US? They have them in the UK, although you need a chunk of cash to start the process.

You buy the land and start building the house, at which point the bank values it and gives you a mortgage. You then build more of the house with the money released from the mortgage and it gets revalued and more money released, so you can then build more; rinse and repeat until complete.

It is higher risk and they cap it at 60-70% LTV, so that they can always recoup the value of the loan in a repossession, but theywilllend for self build in the UK.

"Control" works as long as controlling agent is present. Remove the threat of punishment, or repercussion and 'control' goes away.

Raise your kids to have their own mind, their own values, and own morals, and it is always with them.

They used to write some from time to time pre-2008. But had not seen any in a long time. Possibly could be done, and someone might do it, but I am guessing it would be outside the conventional construction loan channels.

Even with a General Contractors license, my good friend could not get a national bank to provide him with financing for his home he wanted to build. A lot of people get around this by writing a contract with a builder and kicking them back a small fee. I would never do this as they will be in line to hold lein rights on the job and could easily screw you if things went south.

Is it just me, or do these not seem like "rights," ; rather, they seem like wrongs.

I keep hearing about the evils of sharia law,and in many cases we use it an excuse to discriminate against others based on race and ethnicity(which i'm mostly against) , but not about the problems plaguing young people in the west. If you look into the "dark side" of porn you will see young western women engage in the most disgusting and disturbing things imaginable. Also look at suicide, depression and drug use rates among western youth today.

btw. suicide rates in Saudi Arabia (5.4), Afghanistan (6) and United Arab Emirates(5.2) is lower than the USA (14.5) and the UK(6.9) and Canada (10.3). I bet that for youth its even more lop sided.
