Mickey Mantle? That's what you're upset about? Mickey Mantle makes $100 thousand a year. How much does your father make? If your dad needs money, go ask Mickey Mantle. See what happens. Mickey Mantle don't care about you. Why care about him? Nobody cares.

Most overrated player Kobe. All about him. Made no one else better. Such a d-bag Shaq called him out.

No particular order:
Bird
Magic
Jordan
Kareem
Russell
Wilt
Lebron
Jerry West way better than Kobe.
Steph Curry
Oscar Robertson

White superstars depreciate like the stock market. John Havlicek was the 2nd or 3rd best player of the 1970's. and was a complete stud in the 60's. Bird in his prime is as good as anyone I've ever seen. 1984 game where McHale took out Kurt Rambis, he had a terrible shooting night and had 29 points, 20 boards. McHale was unstoppable in the post. Barely a top 30 guy.

Bird is better than Lebron. Lebron's athleticism is off the charts, but as a "basketball player" Bird. Better shooter, rebounder, passer and Lebron is a great passer. Larry was automatic from 3 when the 3 was minimized. High 80's-90 from the line.

Lebron made the greatest play in NBA history on that block, but there were WAY more superstars and competitive teams during the mid 80s

too hard to say but I never really liked lebrons gameplay

hes just super athletic and strong.. has bricks for hands and cant dribble that well, shot isnt that consistent or pretty

kobe on the other hand... guy was a wizard and had such an aesthetically pleasing game

jordan id put above lebron as well.. guy would never give up on a play and was a monster.. cant say the same for lebron.

Most of the guys he played against were not even NAIA level talent. Also not much video of him playing or people who actually saw him play in his prime. NBA was notoriously bad when it came to preserving its history, unlike MLB or NFL.

thats a start
He didn't play harder teams.... There's a genuine argument he was on the most stacked team of all time in the Celtics.. def the most stacked front court ever. One of his championships he wasn't the best player and he had 2 games where he scored 8 points and "lost" FMVP to a teammate.

His peak wasn't as good as LeBron since Bron won an MVP, championship trophy (beat 4hofers in that series) FMVP, 1st team all NBA offense, 1st team all NBA defense, 2nd in DPOTY (Its well known he was robbed of that trophy) all IN THE SAME SEASON. Larry bird doesn't come close to this.

Bron has more playoff buzzer beaters than Larry has CAREER buzzer beaters

If it's most rings, obviously it's Bill Russell. Scorer is Wilt. Best player ever is MJ. Most dominate is Shaq. Best fundamentals is Duncan. Best dunker is Vince Carter. Everything else can be debated. So feel free.
Because we're talking about player... And KD is a great scorer but doesn't facilitate, rebound, or defend to the level that other top greatests do.

When you encompass top 10 all time, Malone and Barkley don't do anything to set themselves a part like the others do, so I have no idea why they would be in your top 10. It's mind-blowingly stupid.

Because he was consistently catching L's by Bill Russell in championship games. Wilt was incredible, but he was also a 1 man team who would consistently not make his teammates better and would falter and underperform in big games

The only way to understand is you should be an oldcel like me and watch Bird play during that era. The aura and how he compared to his peers at that time.

JFLOL if you watch BLM Ball. you have 7 foot savages dunking on a 10 foot rim and long, slow, boring meaningless games in a season which lasts like 9 months. mindless sport. fun to play, terrible to watch.

Dude was a unit. When you have greats like Bill Russell and Steph Curry that agree about him possibly being the GOAT, that means something. He could have dominated in today's game as well. He was faster than anyone on the court and stronger. Can probably jump higher than anyone in the NBA, even today. Eventually led the NBA in assists. All stats weren't kept back then as well. Likely the leader in rebounds and blocks. Avged 50pts a game, 25 rebounds. Scored 50+ in 45 games, in one season.

Check :59 for height of jump

:32sec for strength, :50 benches 550, through 1:30 for speed. ran 10.9 100m with no modern day training, which is insane.

Embarrassed Magic Johnson at 3:20

See vertical at 1:28, supposedly 48" vertical, which would be highest in the NBA, ever.

This guy threw the ball so high that no human that ever lived would be able to block it, but he forgot about Wilt Chamberlain.
The top of Wilt's fingertips are literally several inches above the top of the backboard even though his arm is not straight up and down but at an angle. The bottom of the Basketball is literally about 12'9" above the ground and 2 feet 9 inches above the rim.
There is not one NBA player that has played in this century that that has a higher touch than 12'6" yet Wilt is blocking a Basketball where the bottom of the ball is about 12'9" above the ground and the top of the ball is about 13'6 1/2" above the ground.
The Top of Chamberlain's head is literally at least 10" above the top of the rim.

Here's Chamberlain only giving 50 percent effort on his jump blocking a shot.

People on Misc are generally braindead. Obviously it applies to their NBA rankings as well. Most of these lists would be laughed at by people who actually understand the game.

I have a hard time deciding between Kobe and Olajuwon for 10, but I put Olajuwon > Kobe because he was much more of a two-way player, more efficient, didn't play with another top 10 player like Kobe did. I think Curry also makes a good case for #10 because he might be the most dynamic player offensively out of anybody on this list. I don't think he cracks any higher than Duncan until he maybe gets 6 chips with him earning FMVPs for those 2.

Sounds like he should definitely be top 3 and competing for the first spot. Seems like recency bias is the reason people put him lower.

Personally I didn’t include people like him or shaq because they have a very low skill level and just rely on being freaks

Putting Wilt in the category of “very low skill” makes your opinion one that should be completely ignored.
