I’m actually involved in a project right now where we are essentially replicating Twitter, much like Onlyfans did, but a different business model.
The technology itself is not insane unlike Google or even FB. What makes Twitter such a big job is the volume of traffic and the moderation required (which they’ve done an utterly terrible job of with 10k employees, probably would do better with less fact checkers).

streaming video / spaces / ecommerce / payments and had other shiit in pipeline. those are things you just roll out over weekend.
twitter is probably going under by mid next year or changing hands once Elon jumps ship.
