Joel Koskan, Dennis Hastert, Joel Greenberg, Roy Moore, Matt Gaetz just to name a few Republican politicians off the top of my head from the past few years who are either convicted child abusers or have seriously sketchy records of engagements with teenagers etc. Even after Hastert for example admitted to his grooming, dozens of Republican politicians wrote letters trying to cover for him/defend him.
