Well now almost all of them hire through a temp company. I hate it too because the majority of the people will quit day 3 and they will treat you the same. The company usually has no idea you are even being sent there. I’m already working there and just got a text that I have an interview for the temp company that already found me a job at tomorrow. That’s how unorganized it is. The strange thing is almost all of these temp companies are run by Spanish speaking people so it’s only a matter of time I feel like until ilegals ir fresh across the border people take over these jobs.

Warehouse I used to work used to hire direct off their site and also with an agency. Get hired direct if you can, agencies used to rape guys checks for months. Check out soda companies, your local grocery warehouses (some can be horrible tho), beer companies, food distribution companies (US Foods, Sysco), CVS warehouse, etc. The bigger and more well known, the better they usually treat workers.

I wouldn't recommend utility jobs for most Miscers. Most people just switch their phones to mobile data in a power outage while the true Alpha gets out of bed and on a bucket truck fixing transformers 35 feet off the ground in howling wind and icy rain at 2 am.

As far as the Railroad, I worked with a RailBrah. He was mostly a track guy. It was weird, they would run him for like 7/12/7 for 3 months then forget he existed and he would go on unemployment. Then he would get a call at 6pm saying he had to be at a site at 6am. The pay was amazing though.

Nice. That's what I do. Yeah not sure why they write that. My office seems to prefer guys with no experience so they can train them the way they want to. Since I've been here, they've never hired a guy with prior experience.

Lmao. Or be able to keep your chit together when a 4" 30psi gas main gets hit and is filling a house full of gas and you've got to evacuate an entire neighborhood. Police and FD looking at you like wtf do we do?.. there can be some sketchy situations but be smart and dont put yourself at risk. Go by policy and stay safe. It's a good job and you will never be laid off from utility. Gas or electric

My uncles buddy got on with UP years ago as a conductor and his first day his younger told him straight up “You’re going to kill people. People get on the tracks and you can try to stop but you can’t so you’re going to. If you can’t accept that, you should go.”
Super good money but just imaging that day one is like damn.

And yet forklift drivers are still some of the dumbest motherfukkers I've ever met in my life. Manage to fuk up the most unexpected things on trucks, batteries, etc.
